Got some spare steelies, and I asked the dealer for TPMS sensors. They told me $1546… $285.84 each.

That should be $285 for a set of four, correct?

Otherwise I can understand all the threads on alternatives. That’s more expensive than most steel rims.

No, could Not be, in Germany 4 Steel Wheel inkl. General Grabber AT3 inclusive TPMS 1600€ / 4 Wheel. TPMS Universal Typ ~ 25€/pcs. but your tire dealer has to clone the TPMS Sensor, otherwise the Grenny didn‘t know them.

This was the dealer price. Is there something special about the IG valve stem that makes them that expensive, or is this just IG tax? I understand why people are looking at $250 TPMS programmers.

I know it is a safety thing, but at $258, that’s as much as the tires..

That's crazy.

As an aside, apparently on a 26 with alloys you get a steelie spare.

I’m starting to think it’s true, but crazy. It seems that BMW sensors are about the same price. That makes a second set of tires and rims are pretty expensive endeavor.

And we have been missing a massive amount of snow here in Colorado, so my snow tires have barely gotten wet.

I just paid for a set of BMW's for 90$ each. At the dealer.

They speaketh the truth - though of course it's idiotic. See my quote for same a couple years ago.

I think some more naivety from IA.

They went with a third party to manage the parts and logistics.

A Swedish outfit formerly part of SAAB.

I would assume the deal sees this company taking complete control including inventory ownership. They probably sold themselves on the back of their inventory management and ordering systems.

Over priced parts and very poor service, hopefully they didn't sign a long contract.

By the way SAAB vehicles were notoriously expensive for parts, if you could get them.

Autel MX-sensors about $22.00 each.
Can get with metal or rubber valve stems.

Local tire store will sell you a set cloned and installed on you wheels for about $350.

You can buy an Autel TS508 (Not WF model) used for about $150.00 on eBay.

You can clone your old TPMS sensors and move the Sensor IDs if you need to rotate tires.

Lots of relatively simple things can be done to reduce the cost of TPMS on the Grenadier.
