TPMS programming for MX sensors with older AUTEL TS408/TS508 (pre-INEOS) guide

I ordered a metal MX sensor to test that I can clone/duplicate a factory sensor. I plan to get bigger tires around March.

Just to confuse this whole thing more......

I ordered a TS508 WiFi from Amazon a couple of weeks ago, based on the "4 methods of programming including Copy by manual input" that was advertised. I hadn't read this thread until after it was shipped.
I was expecting to have to send it back, but I picked it up from the Post Office yesterday, and this morning I have had a look and found that it has the Grenadier listed and has the Copy by Manual input option, but not the OBD option..

Did you skip the registration and software upgrade steps, including selecting your country?

I registered the device and chose the country, but it didn’t force me to update it…that bit was optional.

I just powered up my TS508 and it shows all functions noted above, just no Ineos in the manufacturer list.

Do I need to update it?

If it is TS508 and not a TS508WF you should be safe in updating the software.

I Just bought an old ts508 on eBay and updated it. It now lists the Ineos and still offers the manual entry option for the IDs.
