For those of you with the Agile Offroad sliders, do you find them too high to use as a step for entry, especially for those of you with a lift and larger tires?

I love how they tuck up close to the bottom of the door, providing more clearance and the best aesthetics, and unlike any of the other offerings on the market, but I worry they might be too much of a reach and possibly an added obstacle for the misses and any other passenger shorter than average.

Lastly, did you choose aluminum or steel, and why? My alternate considerations are Dissent (if they bring them back), Metal Cloak, and Dirtbox Overland (insanely pricey).

Thanks for asking this question @Mister_BevilAcqua as I have the same questions....

Over the weekend I put on some used, really good condition, Owl Slider/Steps. They look nice, but it appears the passenger side sits tighter to the side rocker than the driver side. ....:cry: O/A, they are only 1 inch higher than the OEM side steps that came with the IG (14" from 13" for my IG). So, after install still had me thinking Agile Offroad Sliders might be the way to go even with the need to drill into the IG (doesn't just use factory bolt locations).

I hear aluminium is grabby and steel will allow more sliding over obstacles (but you take the weight hit. obviously). When I inquired with Agile awhile back they recommended aluminium, but that just made me think they are selling more steel and have too many aluminium sliders in stock 🤣.

Dirtbox Overlan says this:
"Built with the strongest materials available, they are designed to absorb impacts and prevent damage". I'm sure they are not made of Graphene, Carbon Nanotubes, or Lonsdaleite (but priced like it)...Steel?

Also don't like this with Dirtbox Overland sliders;

I also like those ones. Check out Goliath off road as well. They appear similar. Someone in the sliders thread recently mounted them and loves them. They appear to be what you’d like. I’m not sure I want the stainless tops, so I may ask them if they can sell without. My questions are the same as yours, and I’m slow to pull the trigger.

I didn't realize you have to drill into the body with the sliders from Agile, not a fan of that. I called Dissent earlier, and they have no plans to make the sliders in the future, so those are officially off the table. If Dissent is a no-go and those from Agile require drilling the body, then my decision might be made for me with those from Metal Cloak.
