Towing

Hey folks...
Im abt to pull the trigger but the truck Im looking at doesnt have the tow ball and I wanted to be able to tow.
Is that something that can be added later or is it cost prohibitive.
The sales guy said its around 10k to add later.

$10k sounds a lot, I think it’s about £3k (say $5k) here.

Americas Thread 'Tow Package install - Software Update'

I spoke with 2 dealers last week (The one I purchased the IG from and the 1 I am having the trailer receiver sent to for Tow Package installed). They both stated that the only place the tow package is being installed and the software update is being done is at the port. Ineos has not sent the software update to the dealers yet. Both dealers believe it will be within 2 weeks. The dealers stated once they have validation of the software update, they will be calling everyone and scheduling the installation of the tow package.

Curious if the software will just be updating for the Tow...

In Australia I would definitely buy it at the time of purchase.

Im moving forward and worry abt towing later.
If I tow it will only be a Polaris RAZR or similar.

Your dealer can install the factory tow kit, I had this done. 10k is more than double you should pay for it. I am impressed by the factory tow kit and its ability to detect issues with lighting and brakes on the trailer. Originally I was just going to patch into the wiring and use an aftermarket connection and for me the factory one turned out to be a much better option.

Yeah, fortunately I dont need it right away but when I do I will call a few dealers.
10k sounded ridiculous to me too.
