Yes! So towing equipment and winch is more needed than additional tools for repair.

Where are you seeing that it needs to be stored upright?

Expensive but I prefer it for safety reasons when overlanding internationally, same risk mitigation rationale applied with winching kit.

Thanks! I’m familiar with the manual and the jack, I own one. I appreciate the citations, that’s most helpful.

I was puzzling about the claim that ARB recommends vertical storage and spoke to ARB HQ before purchasing.
They insisted that they do not, and have not ever, instructed owners to store in a vertical position - I note they are stored on their side awaiting sale at my local ARB outlet.

That’s HQ however the message may have arisen in the provinces, for legitimate reasons.
The concern seems prevalent on US forums so I wonder if ARB USA was the source, hence my question.

Having not yet taken it on an expedition I can’t attest to field durability but it’s a very nice bit of kit in the hand.
It clearly sacrifices durability for reduced weight when compared to a farm jack, which as we know will survive an apocalypse.
I know a few others who have had several years of ownership/use however and have the sort of enthusiasm one might have after spending that much on a jack.

That last customer appears to have received a DoA product. Not sure why he didn’t return immediately under warranty.

nb. Pressure Relief Button warning was mentioned by ARB, with the solution being to use the carry bag and be mindful stacking on top of it.

In the tool kit there are 2 tools under the blue pliers that I don't recognize. Anyone know what those tools are?

I haven't been to a workshop for years and have always serviced my vehicles (LR, VW, tractors) myself. I have 95% of the tools in the case in my workshop trolley and a lot more. It also occurred to me that it could be a clamp. But I had never seen this type before. Thank you for the research.

Unfortunately here in Australia we have to work for 5 days and then we only get two days off to play.
The last thing I want to do on those two days is more work.
Unless of course you consider it play

We have got the same situation here in Germany. But because I had an office job, it was always fun for me to restore S1 Land Rovers or tractors. My latest project was a Carraro 635 Supertigre ( the small one in the front. ) The tractor next to the hedge is a Same 360 C 4WD. I just have them for fun.

I understand it completely. I stopped "working" three years ago, well paid consulting job (and I was really good). But I have now a paid "lovely job", lower pay than before, I love it ... and I do it whenever I like "on demand": sometimes weekends, night, early morning, ... No stress, no preparation, no afterwork (besides my invoice).
(No, I am not a doctor or policeman).
I also begin to see the end of it ...

well, I've obviously failed "photo-interpretation 101" but I will say that thanks to the higher-resolution illustration, I've now been able to determine several other "implements" and the kit is indeed very well thought out. While I have virtually all of the bits and pieces illustrated in one form or another,it's a matter of arranging them in the one place.....

I’d never seen hose clamps before. I would just have used those long nosed mole grips. I’m just a keen bush fix bloke though
