Stuck at Cape York

That's a private page, so, I don't know if I'm seeing all pics... Is there no centering yoke on the DC, or are there parts lost in the explosion?
Normally no centring yoke on a double cardan used in a steering swivel housing. This is because each side of the joint is supported by a plain bearing in the axle housing, and the short side is supported in the wheel hub. The centre support yoke is used in drive shafts to support the DC because the shaft is only bolted and supported at the flanges.

I had a look on the workshop manual and it's all one unit from spline to spline, like Mercedes unfortunately, a complete replacement of the unit end to end, they are not serviceable.

It makes sense but I've never actually looked at one.
 
So re the story of clicking from new...damaged or poorly lubed needle bearing at factory?
 
Well, I've been taking the "wait and see" with mods. Did he do any writeup as to the circumstances on his post? He had his line and tree saver out, but, that's how I drive once I get offroad so, I'm wondering, was he locked, were the stops set back, are the tires over sized, was the wheel at full lock, was he recovering or on the gas or whatnot...

PDR is the Peninsular Development Road. A part-sealed part-dirt road that services that area. It does get some impressive corrugations (washboard).

There is enough cars in Australia now, to give INEOS plenty of feedback on what damage corrugations will do to the car. These corrugations are brutal.

On my Kimberley/Pilbara trip I estimated I hit 20 billion corrugations, and that was conservative. Yes billion.

Towards the end of that trip I came off the Great Central Road at the Olgas (I started the road at Laverton in WA), my body screaming no more corrugations, after about 90 days non-stop.
