Steering falling off? Has this been covered?

are people getting any clunks from the tie rod, before this separation happens?

After you've tightened the jam nut, does the clunk stop?
I have avoided making this comment because it's a bit hard to articulate. But, I found that setting my tie rod rod ends opposite or "out of phase" if you will when tightening the tie rod you will no longer get the clunk. The tie rod flops all over the place if the to rod ends are lined up as you would expect them to be.

So instead of I_________I try \_________/ if you will. Sorry really hard for me to articulate. Maybe I should use AI if that's not doing it for you.

You are functionally reducing the amount the tie rod can rotate in either direction.

I want to say 160ft#... I think it's somewhere in this thread but pretty sure that's right.
Per the service portal the torque spec for the lock nuts is 250nm or 184 ft-lb.

As stated before I marked the locknuts and rods with a bold yellow line using parts marker, it makes visual inspection easy.

TBH we should not have to do this or check CV boots etc on bone stock vehicles.
