I spent the day yesterday installing a REDARC Tow-Pro electric brake controller. Not at easy as it should have been since one of the wires (violet/orange) didn’t work properly. I found the workaround on this thread thankfully: https://www.theineosforum.com/threads/na-trailer-brake-controller-install.12414979/
After hooking it all up I connected to my Dad’s trailer and discovered the Grenadier wasn’t sending the proper signals to the trailer lights (the brakes worked though!). My Dad’s trailer is older with regular bulbs so we drove it to a friend with a trailer that used LED lights. My friend said all the trailer lights worked with his truck, but when we hooked up the Grenadier everything seemed to work except his left turn signal light. Hazards, brake, and turn signals all worked with the right light but not the left. Also, with both trailers connected my Grenadier showed an “Exterior bulb failure” error on the dashboard.
I should mention I discovered the trailer signal issues last year and brought it into Mossy in Houston in October 2024. They looked up my VIN and said the software update that was required to release vehicles with the tow package had never been performed so they did that (I purchased my vehicle from Triad in April ‘24 BTW). Unfortunately I never checked again until yesterday.
I’ve read there was ANOTHER software update to fix a small number of vehicles that were still having trailer signal issues. I’ve also read something about possibly needing resistors depending on the type of lights your trailer uses.
My current SW version is SW0000000773003070
My VIN is -01161
Anyone have any insights they can share? I’m about 6.5 hours from the dealership so if there is something I can try first on my own I will.
