I
I called KO Ineos about the glass. They said that Safelite should call any dealer to place an order and the dealer will ship to Safelite. I plan on going to Safelite tomorrow and telling them.
If you give Safelite a quote from your dealer listing the screen & drain gutter part numbers and prices it will remove any excuse for them to not pull their finger and get it done.

This is how it works if you are ordering glass products and specify OE rather than some lesser aftermarket version.

I checked w/Curry and they can do the replacement but did say there is no windshield inventory in the US. Calling Safelite tomorrow for an update. If no word then I will call Curry and schedule with them.

So still no windshield but Safelite is saying that the windshield is “In Transit”. Of course I asked for clarification on what that actually means…Still waiting…

Crack has gotten longer…now about 2.5” or so more than the start.

Well, pulled into the bank parking lot this morning, parked and heard a crack. Yep, windshield. No chip, no impact - just front defrost/footwell heat on low, and not overly cold outside (40 degrees and wet). The crack started about halfway across the drivers side at the bottom of the windshield, and went up about 8-10 inches. Looped back and progressed to almost double over the next 20 minutes right in the driver's line of sight. Really strange pattern and origin.

Called the Ineos dealer I purchased from, and they ordered a replacement right away. I believe they have a third party service they use for glass replacement...

My loaner has a decent crack. Definitely from a stone impact.

Aftersales team have indicated windscreen approx. $1150 + fitment.

That price seems a bargain compared to what I was quoted in Jan, $2054 including drain gutter plus fitment.

So the South Carolina heat yesterday “enhanced” the crack in my windshield. Originally started as a chip with a small crack to the left. The crack expanded about 6” to the left by the time I left a few days ago. This is what I have to look at the entire 12-13 hour ride home.

Luckily, I should have a new windshield soon.

Hello friends, the problem continues, on Friday when leaving the garage I noticed a small crack, from inside the car I noticed a small crack in the lower part of the windshield on the left. of the steering wheel, less than 2 cm, in a few seconds it began to get larger, reaching considerable dimensions in just two minutes, I contacted my distributor explaining that it was a problem known to ineos and that there were many precedents, my distributor was analyzing the issue with Ineos and after several hours of discussion, they informed me that Ineos told them that they were not aware of any problem with the breakage of the windshield, that it was due to a previous "chinazo" in circulation, and that it was a car insurance issue, and he totally ignored the problem, given this position, I contacted my insurance (comprehensive) and tomorrow I have to leave the car at the dealer so that an insurance expert can come and authorize the repair, until If this does not happen, you cannot request the replacement, which I will have to pay for and then pass the charge on to the insurance. They told me that once the repair is approved, the new windshield may take between a week and 10 days. I don't know what we should do, but I The attitude of Ineos seems shameful in the face of a problem that is so obvious and is affecting so many vehicles, in my case in a Diesel trialmaster with less than 2000 km, I leave you some photos. Greetings Paco

Does that kit even work?

What about Safelite-USA repair? Does it work?

I have used that kit very successfully on a couple of other vehicles with star cracks, but a similar kit did not save my Grenadier windscreen (in fact made it worse, went from a small star to the full lower arc split when the pressure was applied). However I think @Logsplitter has used a similar kit successfully on his Grenadier.

The more I see this the more I believe it is a bad batch of screens or inconsistent factory installation, how can @Logsplitter travel continents without developing this crack but it happens to others with little to no impact to the screen.

Good question and I don’t know the answer. I’ve got small chips all over the screen now and gave up trying to repair them. They are all very small though but no cracks. 🤔
