Ronny Dahl Bought a Quartermaster

After 6 days the video is already over 212,000 views.

Quite a few comments saying they bought an IG after watching Ronny's earlier videos on the Grenadier. Even die hard Toyota fans are thinking about one, that is a huge change.

I find some of the editing of his videos a bit annoying but he seems a decent bloke and his reviews are generally pretty honest I think, he reports pros and cons and actually says what he thinks.

Totally agree.

Sensible content and none of that know it all arrogance you often see.

It must take weeks to produce a 12 minute video made up mostly of 1 second clips.
Good

I'm definitely considering a Grenadier to replace my Hdj79 I have had since new. Toyota put the wrong engine with the 2.8l in the new 79 and made it back into a live axle Hilux LN106 or Bundera cab chassis. Always bought or chose Land Cruisers or Patrols for work because of the 6 cylinder or V8 engines.

It seems like just yesterday TIF thought he a bought and paid for toyota scrote shill that always had advertisers in mind, and now we see he's the sole fearless, unbiased automotive social media influencer on the planet.

his rapture was amazing....

Tq isn't sentient. It doesn't know it's origin.

As a longstanding Toyotaphile influencer he's navigating a difficult route, which risks losing viewers but with a view to more views.
Staying purely Toyota would be like taking the chicken track.
His approach is great for us Aussies and should get him plenty of O/S exposure.
Good man!

I'm looking forward to seeing what he does - I generally put a bit of credit in what he has to say.
He is doing a lot, he describes many things on his list in the 4WD Podcast, posted up the page - starting around the 5:30 mark.

It is clear now why he bought a QM, rather than the cab chassis. Ronny will re-configure the rear in several ways, over time.

Yep - I'm very much looking forward to watching the evolution.

It will be very informative for all of us owning a quartermaster seeing the GVM upgrades and his choices for a tray/canopy setup. I would think you could easily add another 1000 lbs once it is kitted out.

He has a good YouTube page.....I like him and Andrew St. Pierre White as well. Both did extended trips in Grenadier....Dahl in Australia.....ASPW in both Australia and across Africa. Both gave solid PROs and CONs based on their experience and not internet hype or spilled milk from those that want a Land Rover and were disappointed the Grenadier was truly made for farms, ranches, overlanding, etc....and not containing all the plush niceties....and put cost into robustness, reliability, and offroad mechanical traction. Yes there were and are some bugs....but for a brand new manufacturer.....I think they hit a home run. Between Ronnie Dahl, ASPW, and of course the Overland Journal journey across Africa as well.....they proved they were robust, reliable, and very capable.
Toyota going to smaller engine was one of his drivers to the QM.....and he laid out very well in another video for people complaining about cost compared to 70 series. Once you add all the things that you can get from factory to a Toyota LC 70 series.....and factor in both PARTS and LABOR...it is quite a bit more than the Ineos Grenadier or Quartermaster. Electrical switches and wiring harness, triple lockers, inverter with dual battery setup, NATO Plug, Exterior roof plugs, winch wires, INT wires, Recaro seats, tires, etc....especially cupholders and having somewhere to rest your arm. LOL It is worth the money... He is going to put on mudders, an extended range fuel tank which is big thing there in Australia.........and other than racks, bull bar hoopes, winch, storage solutions, etc....those were big things.
Looking forward to his coming months....as he is going to use it to show multiple build options... 1-using tub (bed) as it comes, 2- using platform, 3- using half canopy, 4- using full canopy....etc. Ought to be good.

I find the St Pierre White guy quite difficult to watch, I’m sure he’s very experienced but there’s something about him that grates on me.
He never stops whining about not being treated better than everyone else. I used to watch all his stuff, but stopped. I guess he got a Grenadier finally?
