As mentioned in another post of mine, we're currently working on a solution that will allow the rearview camera to be displayed in full screen. Below is an image of what that will look like.

We already have the necessary development vehicle, and we're hard at work.
In this thread, we'll take you on the development journey and let you participate.

The core features we are planning:
Full-screen rear view camera
Optional front camera
Optional side camera
Optional fourth camera
Optional HDMI interface for connecting a Raspberry Pi or Fire TV Stick, for example
OEM rear view camera connection (possibility still pending)
All cameras as AHD 1080p cameras, but at least HD 720p cameras
Auto trigger for front camera
Select panel for manually selecting each camera
Plug and play installation
Designed as a shipping item
E-mark to enable legal operation (necessary for EU)
Cameras with IP69k protection class to safely enable rough off-road operation
If anyone notices something they'd like to have, please let us know, and we'll look into whether it's feasible. We're currently in the process of determining the position of the passenger-side camera. I'll call it the embankment camera for now. Below you can see two images of what we have in mind. One clearly shows the front right wheel. The other shows the passenger side. Please disregard the image quality. Both the cameras and our test monitor are limited and are not the final product. This is merely a matter of the image section.

Which of these do you find the more interesting picture?

Love your work! With the side camera I would go for the front wheel in view as I can pick up the mid and rear side view in the mirrors. Will this work on both versions of the head units (original and newer versions)?

This is an interesting project. Thank you for your efforts.

Wolfbox got a lot of requests to add a front mounted trailcam to show the view ahead of the vehicle. Not that you should copy Wolfbox, but the user interest is there.

Another common feature request was to add a rear vision camera that could be mounted on the back of a caravan/camper/trailer. That could be a wireless or cable connection.
Of course if you add all of those channels you're probably close to delivering a 360 degree view.

You haven't mentioned a recording feature but that seems like a logical extension unless you want to stay away from the dashcam market.

I think image version 2 is more useful.
