Rear seat removal?

In North America, the Quartermasters are still trickling in, and I'm still on the hunt for a truck.

One area that gives me pause is the rear seat area when used to haul cargo. One of my intended use cases for this truck is to haul motorcycles in the bed. In the rear seat area need to hold gear bags, which aren't small. And related; on overland trips, the dogs would ride in the second row. So my thought to increase interior volume would be to remove the second-row seats, either only the seat bottoms or both the bottoms and seatbacks. And in place of the seat bottoms, a panel that either affixes where the seats are affixed, or like the Goose Gear, access holes for the battery and fuses.

I see that Goose Gear has a seat delete and panel replacement. I have an inquiry out to them on if they have a Quartermaster version coming.

Has anyone attempted removing the seats? How did it go?

We had a good stab at it..

Killer! But that looks to be a ways off, it at all, for those of us in North America. I'd love more detail if you're able to share it. That floor platform looks to be exactly the kind of thing I'm thinking of in place of the seats.
Ineos designed it, I bet you could order it through Australia or EU. Just need to find a dealer to work with. Try expedition HQ out of Australia.

The crew from Goose Gear responded and it sounds like a seat delete kit is imminent. It sounds as though it's only the seats with a backwall kit forthcoming.

This is great news! The backwall is take it or leave it as once the seat backs are removed, things look decent enough.

Keep eye one the Goose Gear site!

Yep, It’s coming. Price is roughly the same as the grenadier delete kit…

Sorry for the late reply!

I would agree with the sentiment above, you may well be able to order from available markets through your dealer. However, the reality may well be availability of the parts and costs to ship etc.

Please please please take into account that on the officially optioned version, there is airbag delete for the side/rear, due to the bolt in bulkhead. If you go aftermarket (or even opt to get the parts sent to you through IA) please above all, keep yourself and your dogs safe!

Much appreciated for the detail, kind sir.

My intent would be to use the rear seats on occasion, so I'd want to retain the airbags for those times I do have passengers in the truck. And based on what I understand about the official parts used for a rear seat delete, that might present a conflict with the rear airbags, so I'm likely to go with the Goose Gear option. I appreciate you chiming in, @Paddy. Thank you.
