I've been working with Portal Pro to explore the possibility of developing portal axles specifically for the Ineos Grenadier. They’re open to it — but need to gauge serious interest before committing to design and production. Here are some finding during our initial investigation.
Front & Rear mounting:
Our current design relies on mounting holes in the knuckle for unit bearings that are standard for Jeep and Toyota steering knuckles. We have a mounting plate that bolts to those holes then the portal mounts to the mounting plate. The Grenadier front hub is pressed into the knuckle rather than bolted on, so in order to make it work with the Ineos knuckle, we need to machine the existing knuckle, weld on an adapter, or design our own knuckle with integrated mounting locations.
If this is something you’d be excited about (like I am), please head over to their site and sign up to show your interest: https://www.portalprosoffroad.com/stayinformed
