Hello- I was installing sliders and noticed a silver dollar sized oil stain on the floor. Before I start digging in the engine bay and/or take it to the dealer 2 hours away I thought I would check with everyone here to see if this is a known issue. Thanks in advance!

We have a small amount of oily residue at the inspection plug for the torque converter but only shows up occasionally. I've assumed transmission input shaft lubricant as it never looks dark like used motor oil. If you haven't changed the engine oil recently then the leak is from somewhere else. Engine oil will also smell like combustion or exhaust a bit.

Thanks, I just bought it a week ago and I think the dealer did an oil change about 2 months ago. I bought it with 2,200 mile on the ODO. I ran the oil level procedure but it never displayed anything after it ran successfully. I'll research what I did wrong now. Thanks agian.

If I'm looking at that correctly is that the Turbo Inlet pipe??? Over time, the O-ring inside that black plastic coupling can flatten or dry out due to the heat from the turbo. This can cause a "Pre-Turbo Induction Leak," which leads to inconsistent boost or MAF sensor errors. If you ever pull that pipe off, it is normal to see a small amount of oil film inside. This comes from the PCV system, which vents oil vapors back into the intake to be burned.

Thats correct I believe it to be the turbo intake pipe. Fingers crossed it just a O-ring issue, my first thought was bad pcv, from my understanding would require a new valve cover since the pcv is built in on the gen2 b58’s.
