Mine is doing it too. 1970 days overdue and increasing. I've read the statement from Ineos and frankly I find their attitude disgusting. They could at least apologise! Their software is shite and we should all stop making excuses for them
Do you want the word sorry or just a bunch of roses and a personalised card?
They've posted this, several days ago.
"We hope that 2026 brings prosperity and happiness to all our owners. We are also aware that the new year has brought an error message to many Grenadiers about an overdue service.
Unless your car is actually late for its service, please ignore it. We are working on a fix to remove the error message and will keep you informed."

He would buy a new grenadier every six months and not affix number plates to it.
You can’t do that anymore in CA. They made a new temp tag law where all cars have to have temp tags. I used to love that every time I bought a new car in CA I could go six months before I had to put the tag on it. You can park anywhere and meter maids don’t bother you because it’s too hard to enter the vin and hope it’s in the system.

Mine is doing it too. 1970 days overdue and increasing. I've read the statement from Ineos and frankly I find their attitude disgusting. They could at least apologise! Their software is shite and we should all stop making excuses for them
Making excuses for Ineos is the SOP for this forum. Only praise can be given. Your statement will cost you a pound of flesh and 1970 lashings. Pointing out Ineos has an extremely flawed software system or any flaw whatsoever is condemned. I’ve had so many issues with mine and pointed that out here and been offered Cheerios and contempt from forum members. Don’t expect any apologies from Ineos, and don’t expect anyone on the forum to be too upset with Ineos.

I spoke with my Australian service manager today (my last few days here in AU). He said Ineos had advised them not to reset the service warning just yet as they don’t yet know what caused the fault so don’t know how long the reset would last or what else it might screw up if the service people simply just reset it. Although the mechanics already had reset some local customers they won’t do any more until they get the green light or a fix from Ineos.

To calculate the actual date the next service is due, don’t we first need to determine the date of our previous reset (using your column 3 and going back that many days) and then add 12 months to that?

In my case, with a displayed number of 1889 days, my last service was 64 days ago* (October 29, 2025) so my next service is actually due on October 29 this year (not March 6 this year as your column 4 suggests) or am I missing something?

* I realise that some of these numbers change each day, but my last service was indeed on October 29.
I don't purport to represent correct data here. I'm only applying the hypothesis of @scottg to the data provided by each user (and sloppily assuming the data was all normalized for the "Service due ####d" message observed on January 1, 2026). The result is a table that users can use to evaluate @scottg 's hypothesis.

Here is my own analysis of this data: subtracting 5 years worth of days from the displayed error message doesn't provide a logical explanation for users that end up with a corrected days-to-service-due of > 365 days. This could be a problem with obtaining accurate data but is more likely a problem with the premise.

To your specific question, if @scottg 's hypothesis was correct, the date of your previous reset was modified by adding exactly 1825 days to the number of days before your next service is due, so . . .
[January 1, 2026] + [your error message days] - 1825 - 365 = [your last service reset]
. . . assuming your service interval was set at 365 days after the last reset. If this isn't true, then there's something wrong with the hypothesis or the other assumptions (like all service resets include a parameter of 365 days to the next service due date).

Of course you're allowed to be angry if you wish.

Buying a product is like working for a boss with whom you don't agree. If you take the job, you provide tacit agreement to further the company's goals in the form of doing what your boss says. If you can't do that, you'll likely need to get another job. Likewise, if you buy a car, you provide tacit agreement to accept the car as is with all its known and unknown faults. If you can't do that, you'll likely need to get a different car.

In each of the examples above, there are constructive steps you can take to improve the situation: labor unions or constructive conversations for example. But getting mad, name-calling and throwing your food against the wall probably won't help.

I haven't posted any tables. I think that's someone else. I wrote a Tcl script that takes the date you read your days of service overdue, and the number of days overdue, and calculates your last service reset date in Eastern time zone.

For me, my last service reset date was 21 May 2025. When I run 2026-01-04 and 2054d into the script, it comes out with 2020-05-21 as my last service reset date, which is exactly 5 years of days incl. leap days plus the140 or 141 days since 21 May 2025.

Every Grenadier jumped by 5 years of days including leap days on their service due counter, on 1 Jan 2026. There will be variation of 1-3 days depending on time zone and certainty of last reset dates, but so far they all work out to those 5 years of days added to the service counter.
I haven't seen you comment on the table I constructed using your assertions. It seems to present some problems with your hypothesis. Comments?

I really wonder how accurate the update or fix will be for those who were or are in the midst of service interval.... Like how accurate can they get with it? Not that it would really matter if you just go off of miles or yearly change but still pondering if some who do only rely on the vehicle to tell them (probably no one on the forum) would just keep going?? Maybe a free oil change to customers and an update would be a nice gesture of a mass failure on their behalf. Just a thought

I repeat, in my case, NO service reminder warning, and the date is correct 🤔

It feels like I am excluded from the Grenadier community 😢:ROFLMAO:
Hi Jean, you are autoimmune due the fact that you altered your car in the beginning off ownership. With all the modifications,It’s no longer a Grenadier but a hybrid Mercedes G klas.

No, that seems not to be the case, and I have been driving several times. The only thing that could be different from most of us, is that my car is a year 2023 model, no wireless Android available, BUT ...
I work with a cheap dongle to have anyway wireless Android. But I don't think that would be the explanation for my "non-issue".
Same for me, Y2023 model, manufactured 11/2022. So that can’t be the reason.

Just spoke with dealer in advance of scheduled service 01/06/26. As of now they have no indication of a fix (from INEOS) and do not have confidence that resetting the service reminder warning will address issue.

Warning with a delay of 1991 days, for me (release date 2023 Jul 5th). My contact in INEOS Europe told me that they are working to fix the problem. I'm booked for Jan 28th for resetting, but I hope that they will get a solution before that date.
