New grenadier winch options

Just finished my install of the LFD Offroad winch tray with Badlands 12k winch. I definitely had a hard time deciding between the Signature Off-road tray and the LFD. I ultimately chose the LFD instead because of the crash bar and center bumper cover cutting required with the Signature tray. A lot of the frustration with installing the LFD came down to how the factory bumper corners bolt up to the LFD tray and how that makes aligning the hardware on the bumper corners more difficult. The Signature, on the other hand, requires you to cut the factory center bumper bar and cover. This preserves the factory mounts of the bumper corners to the center bumper so you won't have to deal with misaligned bolts in the corners.

I liked how the LFD mounts to the frame on all 8 studs. You do need to find your own M12 size fender washers as the mounting holes in the LFD are oversized. All the threaded holes in my LFD tray were correctly sized and the threads were clean. I had trouble aligning the top outside corner bolt on both the left and right bumper corners (the bolt underneath the head lights). LFD's instructions include asking you to enlarge those mounting holes to help line them up. The new location of the PDC sensors really stretches the PDC wiring harness, so you'll need to remove the harness from some of the mounting locations to get some more length out of the harness. Also, do not install the mesh covers for the openings in the tray until the very end. You'll need those openings to install the fairlead.

Also, the negative stud for the winch is behind the front skid plate. Remove the front skid plate (6x T50 bolts) and on the RIGHT (when seated inside) side of the radiator is a black domed nut (13mm). Use the nut to attach the negative winch cable.

All of these tray versions seem to stick out pretty proud from the bumper. All of the hidden versions mean there’s obviously enough room for all the mechanicals in there somehow. If you had a tray version that actually cut into the front fascia to allow the winch to sit back a few inches would that fix the sticking out of the bumper obviously you’d be permanently modifying the front grill

We just dropped our ALL NEW Front Bumper Complete Bolt On Kit that maintains factory winch package (also Warn Winch option if you don't have the factory winch), markers, and parking sensors:
