Need advice for a second car

Boy, you and I are on completely different planets!!! 😂

But in all seriousness I do agree with you in this instance. I just otherwise have a vehicle hoarding issue.
I'm all for keeping vehicles, we probably wouldn't have sold any over the years had we the room.
Sadly, and it was real tears from the wife, but we sold her Cayman which she had owned for 13 years with full Porsche service history, and her Fiat 850 Spider of 15 years. It was decided they weren't being used enough and I couldn't get out of them, and sometimes in anymore.
She has a Crosstrek for everyday. We used to joke we had a car every type of use.

I need to replace the second car and really don’t know what to get. I need an SUV and am super picky, I really don’t like most of the current SUVs — to me they look like minivans. My car history over the last 15 years or so — LR Disco 1 & 2s — loved them to pieces but ultimately grew tired of it being so needy. Then got an older LR3, not bc I loved it but bc I was hoping it would make me miss my Discos less (didn’t work). LR3 is what I have now and it’s just getting too run down.

I don’t think these have the best history but the only 2 cars that I’m a little drawn to are a Jeep (love boxy-ness) and the Bronco. Yesterday I just came across the Bronco Heritage for the first time and fell in love a little — reminds me of old Intl Scouts or old Broncos. So retro.

I haven’t driven either btw. But before I drive anything I wanted to ask if anyone had any opinions about the above cars or had other ideas. I don’t want a new car. I don’t want to spend a ton of money bc would rather put $ into the Grenadier. Thinking a model 2020 up to now, with lower mileage. I’ve seen those “buy back” cars at times for decent prices but realllly unsure if that’s a great idea. Any thoughts…?
As always, we get off topic quite quickly!!
Being form UK, I'm not sure what vehicles you have over there.
A large boxy estate car, not quite the 4x4 look but some do come with 4 wheel drive systems and a slightly raised suspension, something like a Subaru Forester?
Other options on the estate cars are the fast options from Audi, BMW, Mercedes or some other European and American brands.

If this isn't your thing, a pick-up but not your full size things that we don't get over here, more a Toyota Hi-Lux twin cab? I'm guessing you are after something cheaper than the Grenadier so not a Quartermaster. If you want the covered area you can get a fixed rear canopy for the Hi-Lux. Otherwise just get the small Landcruiser if you want a proper full cab area.
After that, my advice is just use and enjoy the Grenadier

Certainly not as robust as a Gren, but we love our Subaru Outback wagon. Well equipped, rides great, good gas mileage, roomy enough for two dogs and lots of gear and we’ve had no issues over 70,000 miles bar one known gremlin with the amplifier.
