Looks like we have choices in US for Diff Skid Plates

Over the decades I have run both Aluminum and Steel Skid plates.

From my experiences:

Steel weighs more than Aluminum
Aluminum tends to "stick" more on rocks as it is more malleable.

I "prefer" steel as it tends to "slide" more over rocks and it does not deform as much if you really land hard on it.

My 2 cents. :)
youre not getting 7075 t6 on anything sold. AO puts theirs as 5052 which is about 1/2 the tensile as a typical steel piece.

On the other hand, the Al has good rigidity for the wide expanse of the plates, and bonding a sheet of 3/16 4140 or 46100 in the wide impact area would be bombproof and give you bragging rights that your Ineos uses a custom engineered military spec layered armor system to protect critical systems and ensure combat survivability. …

I’m leaning towards the RIVAL versions. Anyone have some insights as to the install, outside of having taps for the screw holes? Need a lift to install?

a couple ramps if you dont mind laying on your back. I always used a motorcycle jack for skid plates, but there's aren't heavy steel so that's just an option.

Anyone have the RIVAL instructions? DO they do that Flag bolt thing like the Agile O version?

Also, on the color, as long as they are primed or painted some color, why not just use rattle can paint for color? It would allow easy touch up, and as long as they plates comes with some protective coating

Owl Vans now has aluminum with or without UHMW skid plates available with a replacement frame x-brace available. Looks like the diff skids are steel. They look rather good. I wish I knew they were making these.

That’s really interesting… I have the full set in a cart right now….

I've elected to return the Agile skid plates I had not yet installed and ordered a set of Owl's (Pro-Line in black). Agile's look good for the money at about $1100 less and with nice powder coat options, but I really like Owl's design. I may still get Agile's rear control arm skid plates since it doesn't look like the Owl kit has them, but I'm also not terribly worried about protecting those.
