Lighted Ignition Keyhole Upgrade for INEOS Grenadier by Agile Offroad

Installed mine. Used the suggested 5a fuse. Light is on when you unlock the door and while vehicle is on. Upon shutting down vehicle and locking, it goes out when the screen goes out.

Only thing I see is that the direct of the fuse tap in the instructions might be backwards, in other words one should ensure the fuse tap wire goes right ( verify which side is hot). Doing this, the amount of slack they give you is tight but barely works. An extra inch or two of wire would have been much appreciated.

All in all, it’s an amazing mod that looks great. Should have come from factory like this. If anyone knows of a better power location please list it here. View attachment 7925169
Wrote my last message half asleep. To expand, a fuse tap has a hot “in” side and an “out” side to the accessory. They are directional. I believe the hot side is on the left but everyone should use a multimeter to confirm their own configuration. If installed backwards, there’s a chance the fuse does not protect the wire.

Also included a video that shows the amount of light provided by keyhole. Honestly, for the price and ease of installation, everyone should do it.

I sent a message to Agile to comment on the fuse tap instructions. If it is incorrect, they should fix the instructions and lengthen the wiring. Thanks for pointing it out. Looking forward to getting mine installed.
did you hear back from AO or John?

Yes …

I am installing mine today - been on the road but getting home.

Tomorrow I’ll be installing (4) new JBL speakers. I already installed the Kicker powered 12 combo.

Well mine installed fairly easily but it won’t turn off for some reason. It is staying lit. I’m not sure what the deal is. Could a backward fuse cause it?

Having the fuse tap installed backwards won’t prevent the power from turning in. What it will do is power the device, while bypassing the fuse. Therefore, if the wire starts pulling more power than it’s rated for, it could create a safety hazard as there is no fuse to blow.

I believe @Loc Nar had posted about this in the past on one of his install threads.

Mine stays on after I power off the vehicle and the lock the doors for a few minutes. The same as the center screen. After several minutes is your light still on?

I refer to this pic every time I install a fuse tap. You need to be aware that fuse taps can be fitted incorrectly and take the time to check.

This pdf is also a good reference.

I bought the connectors to wire it into the interior lighting and piggy backed it onto the footwell light. Mine turns on and off with the interior lighting. I was lucky enough that a fine gentleman on the NorCal list shared part numbers for the connectors with me.

I would love to wire mine that way. Do you have any more info or can you link a post? Which wires did you tap into?

It's a Whats App group, I'm not even sure I can link it. Also, I didn't take any pictures.

When you remove the bottom trim piece on the dash (under the steering wheel) there's an interior foot well lamp attached to it. I wired mine to that. The yellow wire is positive and the black negative. Bought the parts to put together a couple of connectors and extended the wires on the key-hole lamp to reach it so that it would be plug-and-play. I'm a fan of non-destructive modifications- so cutting or tapping into factory wires isn't something I like to do. Making the harness added easily a couple of hours to the job to get it they way I wanted it. I always over buy on the parts, especially the pins, so that I can test the crimp strength and such without having to worry about running out. They're cheap.
