Keep in mind rovers DC shaft was lifetime greased. I'm not suggesting anything specific, just pointing out that U joints can often go a very long time without renewing the grease. Same goes for the centering ball in a DC.
I agree which is why I prefer sealed u-joints without a grease zerk. In my DC drive shafts it is always the centering ball that goes out first. The u-joints are often still in fine condition but if you are replacing the ball it is silly not to do the joints as well.

Sorry guys , to much replies to quote everyone

-DC use 1310 .

-Rzeppa from Terraflex , so easy to find , and with a special pice to don't colaps the clips like the other

-Splines are 9" aprox , so virtually indestructible , i have the same on my 500hp and 1.000nm race Diesel and no problem !

the first set of 35 shaft are ready bye the end of the month and send immediately after , yes i don't have thousand of experience specifically on THIS shaft , but i have that on all the parts , i just weld them , we ride the same sort of shaft on Jeeps, Nissan etc , so we don't have any reason to have problems on this one

we always keep the DC to DC for the really big lift , but the DC to Rzeppa was perfect for lift to 4"
