Game changer propshaft

Finally, a concrete solution that doesn't vibrate!

I'm still waiting for feedback from users who are using it after a few thousand kilometers, but it's already on my shopping list!

I'm also curious to see some details on the grease nipples because I'm not even considering disassembling them. The Ineos bolt sets are disposable and cost a fortune!!!

Once again thank you for sharing your expertise.
Please explain how the grease travels to the centering ball from the zerk on the outer cage of the double cardan?
Versus traditional needle tool greasing the center ball.
Your design simplifies maintaining good operation between checks and servicing.
I too am curious how grease gets to the centering ball from the outer cage zerk fitting. I only have experience with needle fittings that are down inside the cage on the body of the ball assembly.
 
So do we think the stock rzep is installed out of spec? I’m thinking dynamically out of spec not sitting on the lot.
I have been wondering the same. If the static angle is greater than the OEM specs. If a DC has that spec, why not the CV?

the Rzeppa on a stock vehicle is operating within spec. In fact the Rzeppa can operate within spec well beyond the rubber boots spec. It's the combination of the Rzeppa and the boot that ultimately don't match up. The boot itself maxes out not the joint.
 
Fella... You say you know he just came out with it, and you're asking if anyone has run it for 20k miles.... so no, no one has done 300hrs at highway speed in the past month since the beginning of the thread.

Like my 6th grade science teacher told me... "Zimm, there are no stupid questions, just questions you should be able to answer yourself."

I don't recall what my what my question was, but I'm sure that wasn't the answer I was expecting either. Now, go use that head of yours.
Perhaps it's you who should read the entire thread. You think he designed it a week ago? You think it went into production without additional shafts being tested? Come on...

Super cool that the new driveshaft has a Zerk fitting so it can be greased. Sorry for the noob question, but how does one know when it actually needs to be greased? Is this a visual inspection every few hundred miles thing or is it safe to do, say every 5k miles or so?

It’s like owning backhoe. You’re not gonna know, exactly. You just know it’s gonna need a shot every once in awhile. If you’re a low speed user, every oil change sounds good (to me), if you a lot of 85/90 mph like me, I’d give it a shot every 3000… from where the zerk is, it’s not really an effort.

The thing is, it’s GOING to wear. It’s a maintenance item. As said, like an old car back when you greased everything. If you want modern Maint free dealer service, just don’t f**k with the car at all.

Every 5k should be ok halve that if working in deep mud an water crossings. Make sure the four bearings purge on each uni, you'll hear the 4 pops and the DC center support purges, clean away excess grease with a rag. Job done.

Brings a tear to the eye. Old school upkeep, like changing a nappy, a bit messy but you know it needs to be done from time to time!

The centering ball can easily be over greased. The seals can be pushed out. It really doesn’t need a lot of grease and it will fling out any extra which then covers the underside of the body tub.
 
Keep in mind rovers DC shaft was lifetime greased. I'm not suggesting anything specific, just pointing out that U joints can often go a very long time without renewing the grease. Same goes for the centering ball in a DC.
