No, he was sharing. We've talked about several projects he is doing for Grenadier. He loves the thing and has so much passion for it.

I was waiting till he got back from a business trip to ship out my truck for my flat bed and half box. He shot me text last week that he would be back this week and included photos of his front bumper to fit 37 and then said. I'll get you portal pictures soon.

Here is the front bumper. The last two pictures show a 32 vs 37. The 32 is off road tire while 37 is smooth in CAD drawings.

What if someone made a high clearance front wing/fender kit? That would help keep the COG lower. You'd still have to trim the rear. Just thinking out loud.

This would be a great product. Something similar used to be available from American Expedition Vehicles for the Jeep TJ/LJ Wranglers. They called it the Highline Kit.

Pretty sure many of the products sold by Dirt Box are made in China. This is not to say the products are defective because of this, just that they are not very transparent about the origins.

Lets just say that the copy on their website and the answers you get from them when speaking in person are not exactly congruent. I really like the guys at Dirtbox and their product too. I am not attempting to disparage them, but the RRTs, canopies and campers are made in China while parts like bumpers, rock sliders, other armor etc are made in Colorado. If I am wrong about this and Dirt Box wants to correct the record, then Mea Culpa. Again Dirtbox is a great vendor, they should just be more transparent about sourcing.

2.??? If you run stock suspension and your shaft goes it will be handled under warranty.
(Or do you mean if you fit an aftermarket shaft you will have no warranty?).

While I love the amount of passion in this thread the vast majority of owners with stock suspension are not having issues, some have traversed North and South America from top to bottom and others have gone well beyond 100,000kms without issue.

FYI we have a pre-production version of the Eibach ‘RoW’ lift installed (Production Part No. E30-34-001-01-22), fitted for ~65,000 of ~90,000 total kms. No issues as yet, though the vehicle has had a hard life.

Rarely exceed 100kph due to road choice/conditions, roof load and general lack of rush.

That's where I got the idea from. I still remember back around '01 or '02 when I was at our local canoe shop in Montana and, for some unknown reason, walked across the parking lot and looked in an open shop door. That can be a good way to get yourself in trouble but I lucked out. Inside were two recent college grads cutting Jeep TJs in half an lengthening them. Turns out they were AEV though I don't remember if they had the official name yet. Their work led directly to the longer LJ.

The Dirtbox (or Couch) guy has mentioned that they do a good bit of manufacturing in China in some of their youtube videos. I think they do the low volume/custom stuff stateside.

I have met Dave Harriton, the owner of AEV many times. He is a good dude and what he has been able to build at AEV is very impressive. The OEM integration now established with Jeep, GM/Chevy, RAM and Ford is almost unprecedented in the aftermarket industry.

There are days when dealing with the quirks of the Grenadier that I think I should dump it for a new Jeep JL or JT and give it the full AEV treatment.
