Hey everyone, not sure if it’s just me, but this morning logged onto my favourite reading material to be hit with adverts for finance and a few other bits 👎
Anyone else experiencing this?
Yeah, and on my mobile they keep covering the page header!

I’ve clicked a thread link a couple of times today and had another webpage open. Clicked the back button then the post again and all good.

But now I’m getting banner ads at the top of the screen.0A9BC09A-306B-4B27-B87C-E0375E782344.png

Forum has been monetized?

They are freakin’ annoying. Don’t necessarily expect to get it for free forever but there must be a better way.

If the forum platform is free, I don't mind some publicity. I don't look at it, and even if I look, I never follow the link.
There is no free cake in life.
I don't expect @Stu_Barnes to pay for it, and if we don't want publicity we should pay, or the forum should be with subscription, but then you will reach much less people!

@Steveo I agree 100%, maybe Stu could introduce a supporter status for member who pay like 25€/$ or equvialent per year. For these should be advert free all others could join with advertising.
Fully support and would no doubt accept a fair fee. Ads are quite intrusive as overlapping header especially on small phone screen.
Given how @Stu_Barnes runs and moderates the forum till now I would be very surprised if he changed to an ad financed model overnight without giving some kinds of a heads up. Am sure we will hear from him soon.

I used to run a VBulletin Forum and you have to pay for the Software, Webspace and Domain. I would be happy to have a Paypal subscription if that helps of £10GBP per annum (or what s decided) to avoid adverts.

Maybe for subscription payers there are some added benefits.
