Factory-like fix for the "Dark Keyhole" problem

Everyone with a Grenadier has this problem: it's hard to figure out how to get the key in the keyhole if it's dark! I've explored a number of different solutions, but now offer a plug-and-play solution that clicks right into the footwell lighting. This means that it automatically turns on and off with the footwell lights! Wiring harness is included. Plus, it has a channel cut into it so if you have a USB power source in your footwell, you can channel the wire right up along the steering column to the middle console where you plug your phone in.

When I am sitting in the driver seat, the key hole is obscured by the steering wheel. I need to lean to the side significantly, to see it.

I’m curious who has clear line of sight with the keyhole ?

I bought your light and plan to install this weekend, however the YouTube link for the installation video isn’t working. Can you update it or send me a working link? Looks like a solid piece of kit. Can’t wait to get it on! Thanks

installation is pretty straightforward, but I'll post the video someplace else if you're not able to view it.

I just extend my index finger along the key blade to just beyond the key tip, and once my fingertip finds the keyhole I push the key in. Been doing it for a year+ now and never worry about seeing the keyhole.

Stupid question. Plugged it all in and no light in footwell or keyhole light. Replugged it in without keyhole light and the footwell light doesn’t work. I’m thinking the footwell light is bad and without it, the circuit won’t complete. There’s not a setting to turn off the footwell light is there? Door handle light and light at bottom of door work as advertised when the door is opened

Installed mine yesterday I ran into this. At first concerned me, then realized I left my door open and I guess the time lapsed and the vehicle shut power down to the interior. I hopped in closed the door opened again and everything g illuminated as intended. Very neat addition. I kept the wire very far right. Between the stainless steel bracket at right of steering column.

Yep, I double checked on mine... make sure that the overhead button is depressed for the interior lights to come on, that's what controls the footwell lights! Also, you can adjust the brightness of the control panel lights in a sub menu of the settings. For me at least, i prefer this to be all the way up at the max.

Nah…just get in there one day with a few beers and start pushing buttons with the ignition on in the garage/driveway ….you’ll figure it out
