Hi Guys

New Member - New Owner but long time Defender owner (110 TD5)

Been waiting a week or 2 for our Devil Red Fieldmaster with some nice options to be ready (well more the finance) and finally took delivery today.

Its ex Demo - 6000odd km and the colour is stunning - really suits the car with the black alloys and black chequer plate.

Still finding my way around it - already getting niggled by a high pressure warning on the TPMS that wont reset... but thats half the fun - learning what is what.

Ive been reading the forums pretty avidly for a week or so so I have some 'plans' for the vehicle.... nothing major just roof rack, lights, UHF etc.. as it will mainly be used for towing (boat) and mild tracks. Looking at a caravan also so maybe for towing that too

Heres a few pics and i'm sure i'll post more as I get things done...

An enticing colour, and welcome to the forum. Coming from a Td5 Defender you will hopefully find the Grenadier a natural successor as indeed do I.

Thanks!

Actually impressively so as a successor - although my brain is struggling a bit - The touchscreen like our Kia Carnival - but only a bit of the tech vs the solidity of the vehicle and the roughness (for want of a better word) of the machine. My brain expects high tech but it stops before it gets too far.

Its like ineos pitched it directly at defender owners - and obviously spent time making it as familiar as possible - I find the drivetrain smooth - but just with enough vibration put your mind at ease and comfort you that its not a ultra modern vehicle and is infact agricultural - literally. The first few gears are also very short like the defender.. always ready to catch out the car behind you.. I have seen lots mention the turning circle? - I actually think its better than my 110 td5 by a considerable margin... the steering centering - well brilliantly smooth turn to turn and light - the lack of centering as you get close to head on has nearly caught me a few times - but i drive about 4 other cars... so i'm still getting used to it...i certainly dont find it a show stopper

Only real winge is the USB ports - the person who decided on those - obviously needs shooting - or they forgot them and they were the cheapest place to mod the tooling! Yes I knwo the defender came with none - but honestly you dont expect it with wind down windows.... So i'm off into fusion 360 shortly and will be seeing if i can model up a few USBC sockets and a wireless charge pad to slot in just under the dash where the phone mat is... I expect i'll be hitting fusion a fair bit designing various parts in the future (Ex mechanical Design engineer - with a few 3d printers.. )
