Great looking bike and Grenadier. I need to get a swing-out hitch rack for mine. Long time cyclist with too many bikes and 30 years of racing behind me. How do you like the Kuat swing-out? I use the 1UP racks myself, none better on the market.View attachment 7897566
Love taking my Grenny to go Mountain biking.
For years I used a roof rack for my bikes because it kept them out of the way. I am too lazy to put them on the roof now so I am finding a swing out to be a necessity if you actually want access to the back of the vehicle.I actually have the 1Up two-bike rack and the Kuat swing-out. It’s a perfect combo! Allows access to the rear doors. First did not have the Kuat swing-out and it was almost impossible to do anything useful in the back of the Grenadier with the 1Up fold-down was always in the way,
Hi,I am sure there are a few other cyclists on here so I thought it might be worthwhile having a thread to discuss all Grenadier related cycling stuff - but not necessarily the Ineos UCI cycling team.
What are your plans for carrying bicycles on your Grenadier? I often laugh when I see the Team Ineos promo stuff showing the Grenadiers team riding along with spare bikes on the roof of the team IG. I mean, how the hell would you be expected to do a quick bike change when the replacements are all the way up there? Obviously the Grenadier is not a practical race support vehicle, but it will certainly be a useful carrier. So how do people plan to carry their bikes? Roof, towbar mount? Inside? This thread maybe could have gone in the accessories section, but I suspect there will be a lot of other non-accessory related cycling chat as well, so I've just plonked it in the general chat.
Also - has anyone been able to extract any free Ineos team kit from their dealer agent or local Ineos subsidiary? I seem to have a whole bunch of Grenadier Prototype Tour shirts (nearly one for every day of the week), but I haven't been able to score any free cycling kit.
lol how do you hoist the bike that high? Are you exceptionally tall?mount EVO suction cups, brilliant thing and can fit very quickly.
Interssting.. but I bet the 1up mechanism was never designed to have the full weight resting on the rear wheel lock armHi,
I recently purchased my 2025 Grenadier and I am also an active MTB rider, getting out 4X week. For me, I wanted a way to hold my MTB without blocking the rear doors so I purchased a 1 Up and then customized a way to attach it to the rear ladder while still being able to use the ladder for roof access, see images:
No, well I do not think so, I am 5' 10"", I rest the rear wheel on the bottom bracket and then lift it up to lock in then pull down on the top.lol how do you hoist the bike that high? Are you exceptionally tall?
Correct, I doubt it was designed for the weight, so what I did was add on a ProGrip 1/4' XRT Rope lock tie down, about $13 at HD and rated to 150lbs. I hook the top to the ladder and the bottom to the last hole in the bottom of the 1 Up, this way it reinforces the 1 Up so it wont release. Been riding with it for a month no issues.Interssting.. but I bet the 1up mechanism was never designed to have the full weight resting on the rear wheel lock arm
