Canopy, Flat tray, Truck Caps for the Quartermaster

These pictures make it look better. It's nice you can add windows and it's interesting they buried the wheel in back.

On the XLW homepage you can see there new canopy setup.

We have some XLW parts on our car and love them, so these should be a good solution if you like the look.

Got in contact with Gearmate, asked some questions about the weight of the canopy and if there is a possibility to have windows in it.
They can add windows, and the weight is 85kg without windows, 90kg with.

Also asked it there are more pictures available, here they are:

This one looks alright and has large gull wing doors, really like it!
Nice to see decent options getting available on the market.
Really nice setup, I like it’s slightly bulkier than D&G or the hungarian version, seems more roomy. Wonder if the spare tire shouldn’t go somewhere else because it’s taking an awful lot of place there

I'd like to get my hands on a couple of spare load bay mounting bars and then convert into a frame for a canvas cover.

I bet a few have ended up in the scrap when people switched the tub to a tray and canopy set-up.

(I wonder if Norweld have any floating around).

Are you looking for canvas cover for the top of tub or make something like this?

Yes, canvas canopy.

But we want to have access from the sides and have load capacity for a roof rack over the canopy. My understanding is that the factory canopy does not allow for either of those needs.

I'll start a new thread, but if I could get the dimension of the load bar then I can copy this for the profile, then draw/make mounting plates to match the factory locations, a couple of horizontal connecting bars aligned to suit the roof rack, radius plates at the top on the sides, and hey presto there would be a frame to cover in canvas. So, three 50NB MED hoops with connecting bars, and a pegboard plate style head board.

I am assuming you are looking at the height of the bar that is the factory one. The height of the factory bar is 62cm from the top of the tub. The roof of the cab is 63cm, and add an other 25mm for the plastic roof protection rails. You could 3D print a 45mm block to put under the mounting brackets to raise it up to the top of the protection rails on the cab.

Going to bite the bullet and get a factory load bed cover.

Looks good in the pic. And I needed a reality check about time and cost for a custom frame.

I'll get the canvas modified with extra zips on the side and work out what to do about fitting a roof rack (upsize the horizontal hoop connections, or add some extra steel in there somewhere).
