For background I am referring to the off-road lights that are in the front of the truck and are activated by being in off road mode and having the high beams in addition to the switch.

I have seen many threads about those off road lights and replacing them and using one of the EXT wires in the hood area.

I would rather use the existing wiring and find a way to bypass the nanny features. Otherwise you are have that switch and the wiring not being used. Where is the relay that controls that and is it deep in the ECU or is it possible to bypass.

For example you can bypass the nanny features of the NATO plug by bypassing the relay in the rear. This was discussed elsewhere. Creating a live plug that is only controlled by the switch and not disabled at driving speeds.

You just need to know how they control that nanny function. It could be as simple as connected to high beam but it also requires the off road switch. That tells me that the brains of that is probably the off road switch with a contribution from the high beams. One could run a wire from that switch all the way forward but that is a lot of work.

There has to be someone on here who already figured this out.

OK, now I found two threads about this.
