I go camping and usually stay at a location for 5-7 days at a time. I have an independent Li-ion battery plus solar that I use for all of the aux power. The starter battery gets drained from the nominal 82% down to ~40% after only 2 days. I'm sure this is a function of doors opening/closing starting the ECU's/pumps. I have tried to keep at least one door open at all times, however, I do see the display turn on if I open the rear door, while the driver door has been open for hours. The...
I have had a PDC error since I took delivery. The Ineos Agent eventually fixed at the first service after some discussion with Ineos Automotive Australia. There is apparently a switch which disables PDC when the handbrake is on. That switch needed adjustment. After a few months the problem PDC error has come back. I thought i'd try to adjust myself. Before I do, has anyone dug into the handbrake area and found switches? If so, where abouts? Cheers, Steve
The single light over the cargo loadspace is no longer working and, as soon as the car is unlocked, the dual lights over the rear seats illuminate and cannot be switched Off until the car has been driven for 15 minutes or more. Any ideas?
Thread 'What are these connectors for ????'
Prepping the rear cargo area so the Auto Electrician can install 3 in one power outlet where the lighter socket is located and noticed there are these 2 connectors with nothing connected. Does anyone know what these 2 connectors are for ????? Cheers, Chook :-)
I think I'm going to add a third battery and put it in the drawer system to handle "camping" loads. I know nothing about automotive/rv battery systems, so before I spend 3 days down the rabbit hole, do any of the wiring GuRu's have a recommendation on say... removing the existing dc/dc and adding one that can handle an additional renogy 300ah lipo, orrrr, should I just add a second dc/dc off of the second battery? No real plans to add solar, but if its there it's there. Any thoughts...
For those that don't have Premium Sound and purchased the JBL Nano sub after the fact, how did you mount the JBL? There's not a lot of space and I'm worried about laying it over the parking brake line.
Thread 'Managing battery life with auxiliary/dual battery'
I recently read an article from Ctek on managing batteries in larger vehicles. See below. The context was 24v (2 x 12v) dual battery configurations. There is an interesting point made about batteries in a dual configuration becoming electrically unbalanced because the first battery does more work, i.e. more loads, charging cycles and at higher Depth of Discharge (DOD) rates than the second battery. This also applies to Grenadiers and Quartermasters equipped with the auxiliary battery...
This is a sidetrack from another similar thread of mine on a different subform here.... I think I'm having a problem with the rear door sensor. Can anyone show me where it is, how to adjust it or simply disable it? I've looked all around the rear doors and see nothing that might be it. Thanks.
Before I buy expensive work lights to put on the roof, can someone confirm if there is power in the external roof mounted outlets with the vehicle switched off? No point for me mounting work/camping lights on the roof if they will only have power with the vehicle switched on.
If I wanted to replace my house battery with a lifepo is it possible? Everything else is stock. What size battery is it currently?
A video showing the impact of the DC to DC charger on your alternator. He looks at DJI, EcoFlow and Bluetti. Fortunately for us, INEOS has put a capable alternator into the Grenadier. It should be able to handle DC to DC chargers as part of the mix. Anything up to 30 amps should not cause problems for owners, but you do need to be conscious about how many high draw devices on at once (especially accessories you added). The risk is higher with big Lithium batteries (over 200Ah) that can...
Does anyone have a photo in a right hand drive vehicle of where the ext 5 wires are - we found ext 1 (verified with meter) and according to everything I’ve read ext 5 is meant to be near it but we cannot see it
Hi all, lots of searching and some open threads leaves me wanting to check this. Has anyone successfully connected a solar panel (via MPPT unit) directly into one of the Ext plugs and had safe, successful battery charging? I can see a lot of comments about this being possible, but the threads typically end without a conclusion or proven use case (happy to be direct to ones that do). Context I have the quartermaster trialmaster with dual battery set up. I picked up a nice little fold out...
Thread 'Battery drained - Now error messages!'
Got a flat battery, jump started it and got the following errors in the below photos. Also getting Airbag Error, ABS and ESC off messages. The front and rear diff switches are also flashing orange. Anyone have a remedy for this? Can it still be driven to speed up the charging process?
Thread 'Auxiliary light Switch'
For anyone who would like to go through the effort of pulling wires to use the factory Auxiliary light switch in the roof control panel to trigger a relay to turn on your aftermarket grill lights. I pulled the wires this afternoon, The wire on the switch you’re looking for is the Brown and yellow wire.
So what’s the deal, why is it the older vehicles with less safety protocols still have no update? Anyone with a pre 17 000 VIN remains un softwared. I’ve spoken to my dealership, and Ineos “Customer service” with promises of “soon” and “imminently” and “Before end of month” (That was May) My dealership has gone through another service department change of staff and the new guy although pretty decent to chat with is not up to speed and has not been able to help. Hopefully Service manager #4...
I need some help with my battery setup. I have a Trialmaster with the Ineos factory dual battery system. I have a Victron MPPT connected to the secondary battery. My fridge is connected to run directly off the secondary battery. My roof outlets powering my camp lights still run off the primary battery. The guy who did the installation for me told me that once the secondary battery is fully charged via solar, it will also charge the primary battery via the solar input. I don't see any charge...
Hi Grenadiers, as I do not have the 2nd Battery installed in may Grenadier because so far I did not need it, I am now thinking of upgrading afterwards. The additional electrical power I will just need it once or twice a year. So I researched what I can do and came up with an new alternative to the native Ineos Solution... I am thinking of buying an DJI Power 1000 in combination with the new DJI Power 1.8KW Supercharger Car / Solar Combo accessory. So I can hook the Power 1000 up to the...
Hello all - I purchased a 200.4 Kicker amp to boost the audio output. I upgraded my speakers a while back but never got around to the amp. That said, for those who installed their own amps, did you find a pre-made harness to connect to the head unit? If not, what was your plan of attack? Thanks.
Thread 'Re-wiring NATO Socket to INT2'
So I did this today. I had asked Lynn Calder about altering the software but if that happens it will be a while off and I need the NATO to charge my trailer battery on our upcoming trip to Montenegro. So I have wired it to INT2 instead. Here's how. The NATO/Winch switch goes to the BCM and then to a relay under the back seat, from that relay the signal goes to the two big relays under the bonnet and in the RHS front wheel arch. I had hoped to grab the signal from INT2 at the fuse which is...
