Let's chat exterior illumination for a minute because I'd like to add some fog lights to my Quartermaster. I have a pair of Baja Designs S4 lights leftover from a project that would fit the bill nicely, especially after I fit the proper lenses. So the question becomes where one might mount the lights? I've seen a few below the bumper and I've also seen a pair mounted in the bumper wings, forward of the intercoolers. My inclination is below the bumper though I'm open to discussion. The...
Thread 'Dual battery budget build'
I ordered my 2-seater Grenadier in October 2022 and did not take the dual battery option (714 € at that time) nor the additional power outlets (214 €). I opted out of OEM dual battery because I did no want to buy a pig in a poke. Well, we all know now what was delivered… After 2 years of ownership, I decided to install my own dual battery system. So at least I can run a fridge w/o worrying to run the start battery flat. There is also a small Stedi lightbar mounted on the roof and connected...
Thread 'MORE4X4 LITHIUM AUX BATTERY PLUG AND PLAY KIT FOR IG AND QM'
Australian owners now have a plug and play Lithium aux battery option from MORE4X4. 3 Options including: brackets only (see above); two versions of a full plug and play kit. MORE4X4 are using the INVICTA 120Ah XERO battery. You can track the SOC and other data through the REDARC Smart Shunt (see video below). All the components are top quality so the full kits are not cheap. But it is a DYI install if you wish. Information on the REDARC shunt View: https://youtu.be/mQwpoWSf2PQ
Thread 'Roof-mounted solar, Starlink mini, networking'
First off: I appreciate all the mechanical expertise that people have shared on here. I am not mechanically inclined and have learned a lot from you all. I am an EE by trade and a networking geek on the side, so I thought I would share my ongoing solar/electrical/networking project. Still a work in progress on the wiring side. This is 400W (2x200 Renogy Shadowflux N-type panels bolted together, wired in series) mounted to DVA Mechanics Dualtrack system. Lowest profile system that seems to...
I was talking with Jonathan Hansen of the Exploration Quarterly and Founder of the Overland Journal about the quirks of the Grenadier a while back. One of which he brought up was the dash and instrumentation and the lack there of like found in vintage Land Cruisers and Series Land Rovers with analog dials. We talked about looking down and just seeing the idiot lights in the small panel in front of the steering wheel as being just disappointing. I suggested that Dakota Instruments make a...
I saw some old posts about this, but wondered about newer options. I know there is the NATO option, but I was hoping for something closer to turn-key or based on internal power options. Not a fan of having to raise the hood and use the alligator clips, looking for an Anderson connector option. For the ARB twin brushless, you need 12V at 90A under load? Any other options to power it?
Thread 'Triple R / LAZER Sentinel Grill Lights'
Finally got the Triple R (aka LAZER lights) Sentinels Installed. Pretty straight forward install. Only nerve racking part was cutting the grill, but they supply cutting guides which made it pretty easy. I converted to deustch connectors and wired to switchpros instead of overhead console. Cheers!
Thread 'Detour Headlight guards'
When the Detour first was shown it had headlight guards that I really liked. I found someone making a ABS knockoff on Amazon and picked up a pair. Here is picture of detour and my new headlight guards.
Thread 'TCM pro compressor install where to get Acc power for relay?'
I installed the TCM pro single cylinder air compressor and am working on the harness. CAtuned says the harness is specific for the Grenadier but it is way too long. It was coiled up and electrical tape was holding in a loop but if they did not send me the wrong harness i may just redo it and take wire out. My question is where in the engine bay can i pull a 12v accessory signal? I suppose a running light or something. Here is the acc wire and the full length of the harness. Also a...
Thread 'trailer head better view / our solution'
Since we've repeatedly had customers ask if there's anything we can do about the trailer head, which is difficult to see, we've developed a solution. Especially when running boards are still being used or when towbar systems are lowered, you can practically no longer see the head with the factory camera. We've designed a new housing for the original reversing camera, which makes the head much more visible, especially when running boards or similar are being used. You can see the direct...
Does anyone know if there are 3rd party aftermarket to replace the Roof light adapter wiring harness?
Hi folks, is it necessary to remove the the roof liner to route a cable from the front right roof outlet to the roof center console? I‘d like to add a led bar to the roof, but the new Strands Siberia XP comes with two switches, which I‘d like to place some where in the roof centre console.
Thread 'WOLFBOX G900 TriPro Offroad/Bumper Version. 3 Channel Rearview Mirror'
Hi all, I haven't seen any other posts yet so this thread is to advise the imminent release of the WOLFBOX G900 TriPro Bumper Version 3 Channel Rearview Mirror. Details here. Available now in the US on pre-order with shipping from March 31st, 2025. @WolfBox: There was a lot of requests for an additional camera channel and improved rear camera night performance in the responses to the two customer surveys you did in this forum. Given the strong level of interest I'm surprised you haven't...
Hi All, The base lights are decent, but I want a little more, of course. After having beams out to 1.1km on my past vehicle, I think this is a bit overkill and am leaning more towards a simple bar like the Stedi Pro 18.6 mounted using the hex bar mounts. Given the limitations on space with the roo bar, I was curious to see what solutions everyone has found, availability in Australia please. I did a quick search and saw the 20inch Lightforce solution, but wanted to see what others have...
Hey All, I did some searching but didn't really find an answer to my question. I recently bought some Rigid Scene pods surface mount https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CHCRBST9?tag=globalgrena0b-20 and I am trying to find a way to mount them to the pools that are around the Grenadier. Any suggestions or ideas of a off the shelf type solution or minor custom method?? Really looking to something that mounts around the bars (not even sure the diameter of the bar). Thanks for the help ahead...
Thread 'Installing aftermarket line controller and subwoofer amp'
Since I removed the aftermarket subwoofer and bracket and installed a sub enclosure under the rear right seat, I needed a place for the amplifier. I reused the bracket that is attached to the JBL Nano, but just to top of it that is 4 metal "legs" and a flat surface. I placed that under the middle seat agaisnt the sheet metal, straddling over the emergency brake cable. I actually put one sided foam tape on the bracker first and then attached it with heavy duty zip ties. That is my amp...
Just wondering if anyone has 9" Driving Lights fitted ? (I won a set of these but thinking they will look too big to mount anywhere) Narva EX2 9" Driving Lights
Thread 'Lazer Linear light onto Rhino Cross bar?'
Has anyone fitted a Lazer light onto a Rhino-Rack Cross Bar. Was thinking of Linear-42 or similar. Link: https://www.lazerlamps.com/linear-42.html Power Consumption 147 Watts Current Draw (at 14.4V) 10.2 Amps It shouldn't overload the pre-wired system, thoughts?
Thread 'How to install the wolfbox mirror'
Hello I like to install the wolfbox mirror and need some help. Does someone knows about the free FC‘s from cockpit electrical center witch free one is permanent + and witch free one is ignition switched on +?
Thread 'Design-Build-Go.com Exclusive Baja Designs S2 Pro Flush Bumper Lights $749'
The Grenadier back up light configuration utilizing the Baja Designs S2 Pro lights. For this project it is required for you to remove your plastic bumper covers and the brackets underneath and send them to us for modification. This is simple, using a Torx T30 driver to remove four bolts. Ship these to Design Build Go address listed on the website, which has more picture and video as well. These are hooked up to INT 2 switch on my Grenadier. I do not have them wired to reverses lights...
