Wolfbox rear camera too dark

Ahh I don’t have the rear mounted outisde. It’s mounted inside like many people here

Wolfbox should embrace this common use case + the common situation of tinted rear glass, to produce software that allow user to compensate for the reduced light

Through exp comp on the front camera, I can adjust it to a highly satisfactory level of luminosity, even during bright day light. Rear can achieve the same, if Wolfbox develops the firmware to adjust
Don't discount that you have a faulty camera. Many here are happy with the performance so that places your unit into question, or it's a matter of expectations 😉.

But honestly, if you cannot eyeball another installation then hit up Wolfbox service. Tell them your concerns and see if you can steer them towards trying another rear camera. They want happy customers to tell good stories.

Im coming up on a two years and I never noticed reward dark camera view. Have you contacted WB tech support? They have been pretty responsive in my experience. Could be a camera, or cable extension issue. Firmware? They could answer that too.

Good luck, as I really enjoy mine.

I have tinted rear glass and have installed the camera on the inside, the image and recordings presented are perfectly acceptable. The nighttime images are quite noisy.

The downloaded raw image on its own does not tell the story. The image displayed on the wolfbox mirror is the dark observation i call out.

See this image that shows front and rear simultaneously. The two camera is capturing a common parking lot area that's in the shadow. (You can also compare how the same sky is being rendered by the two cameras). I perceive this image brightness delta to be purely due to - tinted window that the rear camera looks thru; lack of software compensation to address this very common tinted window scenario.

The extreme darkness in the rear camera's image makes at-glance usage of the mirror very difficult. "at-glance" usability is the safety threshold these digital mirrors need to satisfy.
The solution is very simple - Just enable exposure compensation for the rear camera. Let the user decide what level of luminosity they need.
