What happened to the toolbox?

I recall in early press releases or perhaps elsewhere, there was a talk of space to carry tools in the lower part of the narrow back door. This is the space under the back door handle and Grenadier ‘A’ that sits out from the rest of the rear body work.

Has anyone had the interior panel off to see what fills this void?

Originally I think they were looking to have internal and external spaces to hold gear. The external was killed because of concern around theft. I assume internal was because of cost. I asked at the offroad drive about removing the back panel. The guy said all that is there is the door cable. I bet someone can make a storage box.

Given the first aid kit in the larger rear door, you would have thought they could have done something similar on the narrow one. Feels like it would have been an easy win.
