What did you do with your Grenadier today?

There isn't enough fuel or time for the remote back and forth required.
And you pay a lot more for fuel in our country.
You should visit and hire a 4wd and discover. Could be an adventure.
I have visited, 2000-2015 I was a frequent visitor, business and tourist (20x). Last in NSW 3 years ago for 2 weeks.
I have asked Expedition HQ and Purnell if they would rent a Gren for 2 weeks, but it appears the answer is no. (I can rent a Gren in Iceland).
I find Utah and Nevada are similar in many ways, but don't have beaches.
We have the same problem with fuel caches. In Nevada we could bury a barrel 50% and it would last for years. But people will stay everything.
But I do have the Rocky Mountains in my back yard.

Nice. Still a lookie-loo on here and having trouble deciding on my eventual Grenadier color. This pic makes a strong case for this one (but I like pretty much all of them). Now if I can come to terms with the front driveshaft issue we might be good to go.

Also! Watching Ronny Dahl’s last instalment of his Canning Stock Route adventure, listening to his camera guy Chris describe how their fuel drop was stolen on a previous CSR trip has lead me to believe those days of caching fuel are over. People can’t be trusted with an expensive commodity any longer.
True. Grubs everywhere. And worse to come as Mad Max scenario approaches.

In anticipation of the imminent deliveries, what did you do with your Grenadier this weekend?

Tell the community and share the love, and pictures, lots of pictures.

This thread will remain locked until the first member tells me they have taken delivery.
We drove it home from KO Ineos! Let the adventure begin!

All the colors are great. It's just silver that is the best.
:)
I think the drive shaft issue is way overblown unless you have big lifts and drive fast across the desert. I want to lift mine with the MetalCloak 2.5" and have been following everything here and Facebook. I have been using Claude AI to monitor and analyze.
Is the issue real? - Yes
If it happens to me is it bad? - Yes
Will I drive across the desert at 80mph for hours? - Yes, no matter what. That is what my last 10,000 miles were.
I am data driven, and the only data that exists states the problem is real, but in my mind, very low risk.
Go have fun!
And silver is the most unique color, not many on the road.

Had a snorkle installed on the weekend. Was originally paying for the OEM GrenX Aluminium one.... but they are on hold for some time apparently. So here we are with a boy racers snorkel. Actually Its pretty cool. A very nice piece of design and engineering from GrenX and his associates.

I'm pretty well traveled for an American but have not been to Australia. A few years ago one of Ronnie Dahl's videos talked about taking his 76 to Sydney for a show. He said it was 3 days of hard driving and I had to spend a minute with a map to understand how it could take that long.

Part of that was just not understanding how large Australia is but also the most common world map layout is trash.

Do you have a destination , or stop for photos?
Or just enjoy fast dusty driving?
I like overlanding, and to get across Utah and Nevada in the long dusty parts, fast is a good way to go....
Destination, yes. Photos, always.
This year my goal is to travel East-West Colorado, Utah, Nevada end at Lake Tahoe. There is a fuel station available all but one day. ~2,000km

Agreed with Brad the the issue is overblown. These aren't rock crawlers and don't need a lift for overland travel. That being said I do have full skids in case I get into something I shouldn't. The joint itself is cheap. Keep one in the truck and just slam it in as needed and keep on the going.

Aussie you tubers/influencers will be staying much closer to home given the rocketing diesel prices secondary to events. Filling a 200+L tank is very ouchy right now.

Google tells me that $4.75Us per gallon is equal to $1.78Aud per liter. I think current prices for diesel in Perth are around $1.38/l. Before all the stupidity we were around $3.25/g or $1.22/l. Im curious how much fuel cost vary over the metro areas in AU. My location is slightly below the median cost for the US.

I commute for work until the end of this year. It's a 500mi round trip for me each week. It's costing me about $40 extra a week right now.

Finally, decided for the Dobinsons lift, standard no load, 45mm (1.7”). The rubber is still the same though. The drive is like a dream on roads, speedy bumps like nothing. Both HS/LS on the shocks were reset to 1, roll is almost negligible compared to what I used to have. About 175kg is loaded for the daily carry. The rate have been done perfectly, well done Dobinsons!
Will keep a lookout for the CV. 😫

I am sorry, but with no picture, your post doesn't count....

Can you start hoarding diesel and place it along the route? Seriously. We did this in the 1970's in the Nevada desert. But that was only 800km route.
Picture provided, I am still waiting on House of Tint images taken in the workshop. They will be much better than my lousy iPhone SE image. I managed to buy some black gold for the car, aka diesel.

The stickers on the car's side now has a beautiful 3D effect after the XPEL PPF film. You cannot see that in this image.

House of Tint are very particular in how they do the job, I am very pleased.

The Vista Crossover RV van is now being done. Even though I only drove the van from Melbourne to Dubbo and back, part of the van’s stickers are already damaged. It does not take long. The film templates were not available when I picked up the van.
