I view it as a temporary fix, when I do not have any other options. Sometimes help can be a very far away in remote parts of Australia.

"Mulga stakes"* in Australia can cause multiple punctures, therefore my 2 spare tyres may not be enough.

*Parts of Mulga trees can become like stakes that easily puncture tyres when driving.

Don't know about US or Aus trye law, but whilst repairing the sidewall for offroad situation will get you out of immediate trouble it is illegal to repair the sidewall of a tyre on the public highway in the UK. Tyre depots/shops are not permitted to repair a sidewall.

Definitely not a permanent fix and I wouldn't run it at highway speeds. I don't know if it is "illegal" to repair a sidewall in the states but no shop will do it.

I think I look at tire repairs different than some. I would rather keep fixing the same tire on a trail rather than install the spare. I want to keep that spare as safe as possible until it is absolutely no other option.

Not a good day for Baron Bigglesworth. I took it in this morning for the 36k mile service. I also still had the Jan 1 service error, and couldn’t clear it because the button on the left turn stalk stopped working. Oh, and the passenger side windshield spray nozzle wasn’t working. Half way from Madison to the dealer, on cruise control at 65mph, suddenly I hear a rattle from the back. I thought maybe my WeBoost antenna mount was coming off, but then the check engine light came on, I get a “powertrain error” code, and the engine goes into limp mode. Like 1/10th response on the accelerator, drifting along at about 30mph. Pull off the side of the highway, turn it off, then turn it back on. No check engine light and it seems to be running fine. Get to the dealer, and while they’re doing the inspection, they find the boot on the front drive shaft has started to tear (no lift, stock tires). They’ve had to reprogram everything (they say the power loss was software), are replacing the whole front drive shaft, and have to replace the left turn stalk. I don’t like to think about what this would all look like without a warranty - but that deadline is coming up quickly.

I did something about the poor sound in my Grenadier.

I have the two-seater which only has two speakers in the driver and passenger doors. I replace those with Hertz CK165 woofer and separate tweeter which I mounted on the A Pillar.

Well, for a small investment I achieved a massive improvement in sound quality. Bass is improved and the high end is much, much better than the OEM speakers.

I also added 5" speakers in the rear doors, and these are easy to wire up as the Ineos wiring harness has the wires up to the B Pillar and all I needed to do was run some wires into the rear doors. I'm in the process of sourcing proper terminals to complete the installation. When next at a dealer, I'll ask them to enable the fader for the rear speakers, but they work without this. They don't make as much of a difference as the fronts but will improve the sound marginally for little cost.

Some trimming to enlarge the front and rear apertures is required but with a Dremel, a relatively easy task.
