I put the fender guards on today. I was a bit nervous about drilling holes in my car, but very happy how they turned out. I also moved my solar panel to between the bars at the back of the roof. Seems to be much quieter.

A friend sent me photos of window basket panels he installed on the rear doors of his Grenadier; they looked very nice and I thought it was a good place to find some extra storage because you can't really see out of the bottom half of the rear door windows anyway. His photos:

Seemed like bags could be made to install in the same location, so I designed a way to mount bags there that doesn't require screws, double-sided Velcro tape or any other fastening method that might damage the panel to secure them in place. To prove and test the design, I sewed one for the window in the small rear door. It mounts very securely without damaging the door panel and removes and leaves no trace that it was there. It's just a quick proof-of-concept prototype for testing; next I'll work on a bag for the wide rear door.

If people thing bags that mount in this location are a worthwhile idea, I can suggest these to Overland Outfitters to see if they'd be interested in putting them in production.

If your asking me Tom and I guess you are are, as you just put a thumb up on my solar installation. Yes I did hard wire an ARB twin compressor under the passenger/left side seat. A very easy straight forward job.

Howdy everyone!

Thought I'd share the drawer system I made with my dad.
First time working with T-nutz (80/20) extrusions for the frame. Absolutely love this stuff, very sturdy and versatile!

Total drawer dimensions: 41.5" W X 12" H x 30" D
Drawer fits right in-between the lip of the floor liner on either side and the top / lid is above the 12V outlet.

Box is made with 1/2 ply wood and attached to the slides with T nuts (linked below).
We added a 4" tall divider that's removable, just for small pieces of gear / lens.

The drawer can be opened with one hand with the bar I installed across the two slide latches. Drilling through the galvanized steel was tricky, but once I finally had a hole through it I bolted on a piece of angled aluminum (1/8" thick). Wrapped the bar in about 80' of paracord too, helps add to the look and could be handy in a pinch!

It's been a fun project and already extremely useful. I took all my telescope gear and went out to the Texas hill country last weekend for some dark skies. Great way to carry / protect some pretty pricey gear!

I got my truck back from the body shop a week or 2 ago so I was able to finally get some stuff done. Minor stuff but cool enough.

I have had this for a while but finally had the time to oil it up.

I bought the rear storage rails and the door lights from Goings Grenadier.

Kkkkkk yea I was pointing the laser at random stuff as a novelty. Pretty cool! I'm actually now looking forward to having the HVAC blow hot with knob at full cold. Oh the irony. Shakespearean, team Grenadier. smh

Don't forget you can also use it to check the temperature of your CV on the front driveshaft after a drive. Or, point it at people passed out drunk after a party to confirm they aren't dead. So useful.

Fabulous job with the drawer but those pictures are amazing. I zoomed right in and still stayed pretty clear. Please post more in the 'Random picture' thread with details of what is in the picture.
Just stay away from the monthly competition, which does require your Grenadier to be in view or part of, as it's obviously cheating

Yes. You can go to a car wash where water is recycled and contaminants separated.

The French (rightly so) take water quality very seriously. You can swim in most rivers and lakes which is not the case in most of Europe.

Saying that, it is France, so you can go into any auto parts store and find whole shelves of car wash products.
