Added a couple of accessories to my DropRack... a Kuat Piston SR bike rack. I have their hitch rack version on my Rivian and didn't love having a swing mount on my '86 Land Rover 110, so I decided to mount one up top. A brilliant design that doesn't require removal of the front wheel and has an integrated lock for some peace-of-mind.

I also bought canoe-specific ends for my Goodboy Paddlesports rack... simple to remove with two pins when not in use. Although slightly higher profile than I'd prefer, it allows the canoe and Adirondack guideboat to clear the Kuat so both can remain in place - leaving enough room to occasionally mount a Thule roof box. The photos were taken during a 'test fit' as I await the arrival of t-slot eye bolts for securing properly with straps. I off-set the base bar slightly forward so that the canoe clears my Airstream - which still allows me to see straight ahead without the bow of either boat interfering with visibility.

One unfortunate discovery I made this week is that DropRacks is in bankruptcy... hopefully a company will invest or purchase, as the design and execution is excellent. As I've posted earlier, the product allows me to return to solo paddling, despite injured shoulders that prohibit heavy lifting above chest height.

I bought a CTEK MXS10 and a 13 pin trailer adaptor to trickle charge the Grenadier back in Jan, saves pissing about under the bonnet or under the back seats. It stopped working after a few months, quick email to CTEK and a new one was dispatched with no questions asked. Good service!

Just curious, did you lock the vehicle with the key or the fob, in the ferry hold. I am still confused about the tilt alarm. And the fact that the M1s have an "advanced" alarm vs the N1. I think that was the sales blurb at the time, as one of the differences

I locked it with the key in the door both ways, didn't set off the alarm and the crossing back was relatively rough for the first 12 hours. Mines an N1

We go in summer for a month every year. Was thinking of retiring there most of the year.

I was thinking the same thing when driving around, I could easily live there! especially when you get back to the UK and immediately get frustrated with the state of the place. Portugal is apparently the poorest country in western Europe... makes you wonder how they measure "wealth"

Did you go through the Picos de Europa in Northern Spain on the way to or back from Portugal. That’s another lovely region. Quite a few characters on the ferry inc many 4x4 owners and bikers and another Grenadier owner coming up through Morocco , Spain and Portugal as I did.

Yes we stopped for one night in the Cantabrian mountains, absolutely stunning and just makes me want to explore that region for another few weeks! the Biker we met on the ferry was a good guy, gave us a few good tracks to check out, and some camp spots. He lives a stones throw from Bussey's so will stop in for a beer at some point! That's what i love about overland travel, the people you meet.

Solo camping night to chillax in Okala national forest in central Florida. Rained this morning which kept the heat down. One of the last opportunities to sleep comfortably at night in Florida before the heat and humidity really sets in.

Did a run with a group in the PNW. Made it to 4k before running into snow. The QM exceeded my expectations. Steering was awesome, nice and relaxed. No confusion locking diffs when needed. Radflo shocks were amazing. Did a high speed bit of hard whoops and theL663 had a tough time keeping up

One last one, they lines up Land Rover by series, they took picture. Then as a joke, we added mine and we all climbed on to our rigs.

Awesome mate! glad to see the QM out doing bits. The Grenadier gives you the feeling that its happy in that environment too, unlike the L663 that in my experience feels out of place offroad

And the look—at least for me—matches the car 10 times better than the glossy trim!
In two days, it's off on a long journey—then it can show what it's made of

Was out for 4 days in the Owens Valley, Eastern Sierra, and Inyo Mtns of CA. Drove the challenging road through Mazourka Canyon thru to Papoose Flats and out to the Death Valley Road that goes to Eureka Dunes. 4low and lockers needed! Went over to Big Pine and camped at higher elevation. One night at Mazourka Peak at 9500' and another in the forest along the Owens Gorge Road.

Rambo (not entirely my choice of name!) was working hard today. 6 loads of logs, each weighing about 3.5 tonnes, pulled out of the woods and back to the yard for processing. Needed low range, center and rear diff locks to get up the steep grass bank back to the road - had to be done while it's dry. Car survived but I'm feeling broken.

First camping trip with the IG. Hell of a weekend to pick - thunder showers with lightening all around us through the night, a tornado watch and a water moccasin who thought about coming ashore right where we were camped. My Dometic CF50 did great plugged into the rear 12V socket. Started the truck in the evening to charge, but the dual battery as configured worked fine, would rather have a true house/chassis battery configuration, but it is what it is. On the wishlist is to add solar charging and BT battery monitoring so I don't have to start the truck to check battery level.

Overall the IG did fantastic and looking forward to many more adventures.

Kudos to DVA Mechanics for their side mounts. Arrived the day before we were to go camping. Very easy install and did the trick for my axe and shovel.
