Time will tell. We need more data and some vins matched to actual specs. Wrt to Australia I don’t know when the first customer cars will actually land so until then we’re in the dark.

Cheers
Steve
well - I think its fair to say they are on the water since 2 weeks - so I reckon landing end of April - so I bet first sets of keys in hands in May

A take off from this thread:
And the "first" known customer VIN:

Google suggests a number of different ways of decoding a VIN, so this one is a starter for 10:
View attachment 7798858
or
View attachment 7798874
where:
WMI = World Manufacturer Identifier
VDS = Vehicle Descriptor Section
VIS = Vehicle Indicator Section

1st guess:

SC6 = Ineos Automotive Ltd
G = Grenadier
N = commercial?
2 = right hand drive?
D = diesel?
B2 = body type?
P = 2023 model year
F = Hambach plant
xxxxxx = sequential number
Hi All IA got back to me this morning with this and I quote. Seems the chassis number is the VIN

"Thank you very much for contacting INEOS Automotive.

I just heard back from someone from the 2nd level support team and I can confirm that the VIN number is the chassis number.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any further assistance."

Position 9 of the VIN number is indeed quite erratic!
I collected (on this forum and elsewhere) 15 partial or complete VIN numbers and the following numbers appeared: 0, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, O, X.
X appeared 3 times (I belong to the X), 4, 6 and 7 twice, and all the other numbers once, unless the O was a zero (what I suspect).
Therefore I think it has something to do with the "model", but I am not sure.

I have also a possible explanation on the serial number.
Although I will (I hope) be one of the early owners, my serial number is "1312", way above the 3 digits.

What if they build first 1000 cars "right hand drive" (RHD) for the UK and Australia mainly, then 1000 for Europe, etc.
Job #1 was a RHD!

Any thoughts?
I'm just 2 numbers after you!

OK s o our appointed agent in the U.K. has asked for ID from me in advance of my vehicle arriving from mid April ,to speed the process up when it arrives. Apparently it’s in the factory now. Getting the software fix or parts changed I suppose as it’s already built. VIN no as follows. I’ve removed the last four digits as I don’t think they are required for someone such as @DCPU or @Jean Mercier. To decipher if the vehicle in the factory is in fact what I’ve ordered. Please tell me what I’ve got 👍🏼

That looks like one of these:

SC6 = Ineos Automotive Ltd
G = Grenadier
N = commercial
2 = body type?
A = petrol
B = RHD
3 = check digit
P = 2023 model year
F = Hambach plant
xxxxxx = sequential number

Thankyou. I thought some comedian would come back and tell me it’s a Left hand drive, diesel fieldmaster in black with a red chassis and pink nose wrap😂. Just my sort of style 🤔
my order is for RHD, petrol ,2 seat commercial in magic mushroom with lots of extras to match Trialmaster spec plus some inc winch roof rack etc. 👍🏼

Just looked at my Grenadier at the dealer compound and took this picture, giving the VIN, SC6GN2DB8PF001607.
For those looking for a grand plan, my vin ending 000935 (ie lower number but I think same variant) is apparently still waiting to be shipped

Great - this means it's an INEOS Grenadier, has a body and is built at Hambach....personally I would have taken this opportunity to use some more informative code letters and names:

OMG: It's built
N: Nice spec
6: Minimum number of months late
FFS: Due for software update
0: Informative emails from INEOS
BRR: No park heater option
??: Delivery year
WTF: Check digit % APR for finance

Got my VIN number through having contacted the chat line as suggested on here. SC6GN2DB4PF002---
This for a RHD, Diesel, UK supplied, Donny Grey, SW, 5 seats, windows all round including roof. Every extra bar the winches.
Deposit Oct 21, remaining deposit June 11 22, Contract signed and in production since March.
Gave me a whole new interest in this particular thread. Very interesting and at times entertaining.
