Under bonnet - removing bulkhead/scuttle panel access covers

One plastic 10mm nut (mine stripped on offside) and two clips on the inside edge:

And an extra (easter egg?) lambda on the offside with great access to the wiper motor:

On the offside there appears to be some form of sealant over the (badly fitted) fir tree cable clip. I wonder if there's been an issue of water ingress onto the wiper electrics/motor?:

The heater access on the nearside is reminiscent of similar access for the RangieP38... which used leak until I fabricated a bunding around it as per what's shown here! excellent!

Despite all the cover and foam seals - there was more than a fair amount of tree debris sitting in the scuttle - not sure how all that was getting in?

And anyone with water ingress issues may want to see if they have two areas where the the bulkhead seal appears to sit away from the bulkhead:

Thanks for the suggestion, but I would say no, because the water comes out of the lateral air vents, and these are situated higher than that seal.

That's the cabin air filter, not the condenser... And that is exactly how it is on many (most) vehicles. My Sprinter is the exact same way, except it has a giant air duct guiding air towards it. The lips around the opening will keep water out (unless, of course, you are driving in water up to the windshield, but you'll have plenty of water intrusion from other places at that point)

I doubt it very much; the debris is very clearly in the tray area; additionally, it's not out of the ordinary (on all vehicles) to get some leaves/etc on the cabin air filter when you're replacing them

Is this the way to replace the pollen filter or is there access to it from within the cabin, via the footwell or bending the glovebox? I can't see any way of accessing it from within the cabin.

The cabin filter can be accessed underneath the passenger glove box. Move seat backwards and look underneath glovebox area, unclip plastic tabs on both sides and slide the cabin filter out.

The small debris will go to the ducts before pollen filter with heater intake air. Probably not in rain as their weight increases and the stuff gets sticky.

Nope, bought the same one Elijah did and had to return it. Bought another from Rock Auto that said it was for the Grenadier and that didn't fit either. So far haven't found a aftermarket cabin filter that works. Had the same bad luck with air filters too. Finally got the correct Wix Air filter number for the Grenadier WA11035 is a perfect fit for the air filter.

SO, I opened this up on mine just to have a look at how the recirc damper was working. here's what I observed.

1. at rest, the recirc damper is about 70% closed, but not sealed.
2. at ignition, it does not seal or unseal all the way but remains in its rest state.
3. when you activate recirc, it closes
4. when you open it, it opens all the way.

after that , it works as expected, either open or closed.

Another observation, with the recirc damper fully open and air on high, the airflow through that vent is clearly restricted by the fairings. There is significant suction on the fairing from the blower fan, meaning that the small grill at the bottom of the windshield is not enough airflow for the HVAC fan. I wonder how many cooling issues could be corrected by providing a way to get more air to that AC intake duct?
