I don't want to start a discussion about sense or not, but in my world, after owning several Defender and Discovery TDI 300 and Td5 i'm convinced that Chip tuning is ok, if You take care of the possible disadvantages.

So was my decision, to get a Tuning box for my Grenadier Diesel. Looks much easier than to get a new file on the ECU with a Nanocom...

The first one, from Speedbuster in Germany, used to throw engine lights. I could erase them, but after I started the engine again the light came back. The difference in power was overwhelming.
So I took it out and sent it back.
Then I ordered a TDI Tuning box. I pluged it in, like suggested, but not LED on the box was working. The engine started but I did not even test drive it, because it was not like the manual told me.
I checked the wiring, but to me it looked great. No engine light came up.
I took the harness out again and now I'm waiting for an answere from TDI Tuning and their recommendations.

I am sorry to hear you have had this problem Horst. My experience is only with TDI on on the B58 (petrol) engine.

After letting the engine control systems go to sleep (very important) I installed the TDI Tuner with the app and it fired up flawlessly and works perfectly. I installed mine for better fuel economy and it delivers as promised with a 20% increase in fuel economy on setting #2.

My experience with the people at TDI is they stand behind their product.

Make sure the plugs are around the correct way. I have had this before. TDI were very prompt in getting back to me with solutions and after I gave them some feedback on the tune and updated it via the app it's worked flawlessly

I double checked it and I think, it is not possible to stick the connector for the fuel sensor on the boost sensor.

I'm lookiing forward for their response.

same color different power plant!

Installing my TDI tuner was very easy and required no tool. I had a small screwdriver handy to help with removing the plugs but did not need it. I did use a diagonal trimmer to shorten the zip ties used to secure the tuner and wire looms under the hood.

I received an answer yesterday.
From the explanation of a technician from TDI tuning, there might be a small chance that I have put the connectors together in the wrong direction.
Not the connectors to the sensors, but to the harness.

If so, I probable will be happy and I will apologize for my stupidity!

This afterrnoon I had time to reinstall the harness of the tuning box and to keep an eye on the exact direction of the connectors before connecting the box!

Like MrsMike said t is easy to put them together upside down! Obviously so did I!

The box is working fine now, no issues so far!

So I apologize for believing that I mounted the box right in the first try and believing the box is not working!
