The extension is 9" from the hitch. I also see the same extender with a 2" riser. Does the height of the extender need to clear the spare tire? Am I missing something here? Why aren't people getting the 9" with a 2" riser?

I’m not sure what you’re seeing, but the only two riser options they offer on the Pakmule Scout are 4” and 7”. I selected the 7” solely based on improving the departure angle. It didn’t have anything to do with clearing the tire. With the Rig’d RambleSwing installed, the tray sits plenty far beyond the tire regardless.
