Ideally one could swap out the Grenadier's shifter with the Supra's, entirely, but I don't know if the signals / setup in the Supra shifter is going to send the exact same signals to the Grenadier's ZF. If I do this switch of the handles, I will order a new entire Grenadier shifter to store in case I need to go back to stock in the future.
Anyone have inside knowledge on the Grenadier's ZF? The transmission pan is different than 'standard' -- it has 2 uptake ports, not one, and that's either because of the engine stop/start or it's because the Grenadier ZF disconnects from the engine at stop lights / while coasting / decelerating -- or both? I wanted to replace the pan with an aluminum one, but seems I can't. I've seen pics of BMW pans with the second, smaller uptake port for G20s / mild-hybrids, and pans without the second port, but the pan has the channeling and structure to support the 2nd port, which tells me the second port is really part of the filter that's in the pan, not the pan itself. This smaller 2nd port appears to be there to enable the ZF to snap back into action after one or both of the above events. Or maybe INEOS put it in because it makes the transmission more reliable and longer lived even without the stop/start and/or coast mode. Will post a new thread with complete info when I've been able to confirm certain facts rather than speculation on my part.
