Supra Shifter installed

I just got my shifter today and completed the install in about 30 minutes. I took my time and for the most part everything went without a hitch. The only difficulty I had was removing the face plate from the BMW shifter that’s held down with adhesive. I even heated it up, but it still ended up cracking near the bottom. If I end up needing to swap back luckily those covers are only about $10 on eBay. Overall, I’m super happy with the results and think that it suits the vehicle so much better.

Anyone worried about these voiding warranty?

I cannot imagine how it would. The Supra shifter handle is essentially a switch supplied by a ZF approved vendor, I suspect most of the switches in the Ineos offerings are produced and available by and to others.

I told the parts manager who responded with “cool!”

This is what is happening... I wanted an additional spare from Aubrey Alexander Toyota and they are sold out.

Then this happened. The Toyota ZF Supra shifter MSRPs at Toyota for $252. Many of us got "good deals" at $175 and "great deals" at $139. Used shifters were $90-$100.

Now "only" $277. Good job lads.

I can imagine how my stomach will sink if I see any error messages pop.
I will just proceed very slowly, and carefully as suggested.

Don't be. Just don't damage the ribbon in the Ineos shifter base.

Wow! I purchased my shifter from Aubrey Alexander Toyota last night just before the sale ended for $139.43

Hope they still had one on the shelf, and the sale goes through...

Well it's been bothering me for almost 2 years now... That one sided lump on the top of OEM shifter not only looks bad, but I hated touching it. It's like a ganglion growth. I even considered cosmetic surgery with an angle grinder when I first got it.

I had no problems with the original shifter. You lot made me want to change.

My local Toyota dealer said that they will match another dealers incentives. Might be worth a shot if you are looking for a spare.

Just been told that my order for RHD version, with Rob at Aubrey Alexander has been delayed from today, until October, due to high demand and shortage of stock. Wonder why.

I wonder if they know what’s going on. Just wondering if anyone has told them….. It has to be strange to them that all of these shifters are headed out of their parts department all at the same time.

I received my left hand drive shifter from Alexander Toyota today. Looks so much better simply setting on the work bench.

Installed mine yesterday.
Looks great!

I might hesitate at $300, but for $140...
No brainer!


I take it back. I'd do it again even at $300.
