Honestly, removing the seat cushions is super easy if you need the extra head room. Might take a second or two longer, but I think it would be well worth the hassle to put the seat cushion in the floor well if you truly need a 3rd or 4th seat. I plan on doing that for my solo trips with my pup. I don’t need much honestly

If you remove the seat cushion, you need a solution to fill that gap. I have seen some people put a stack of containers on the rear footwell, so one can rest their feet on it (head towards the rear doors). But that is yet another messy compromise.

Honestly small board extension with some 550 cord and a clip would solve that and stores up minimally, but maybe I’m cheap

I painted the exposed edges. Acrylic paint and a trimmed down foam brush. Looks so much better for $3 and an hour or so.

how did the final install turn out with the painted trim? Any pics?

Looks good, thanks for the write up. I’ll be sure to separate the 1.5” and 1.25” screws when mine shows up in a couple weeks.

Is there any space in front of the drawers behind the 2nd row seat? I recall seeing some drawer systems that had a small space there but I think that was only on ones that were taller and thus required a shorter length front to back due to the seat back tilt.

Minimal to no space if I remember right

Still waiting on locking slides, so started EVA cutting.

I went with hydro-turf for the top of the platform. Cheaper than sea deck but still high quality and I preferred the color options. 1 full sheet was plenty for the top and bed extensions. In hindsight the Brown is a little too light and will show dirt easily. Cleans up well but should’ve gone with a darker color. I’d suggest using disposable scalpels to cut the foam and replace them before it’s obvious you need to, any time the blade sticks it will mar the cut. Luckily the EVA responds well to sanding with >220 grit to clean up the edges.

Also lined the drawers with Hjdeck EVA from Amazon to prevent things sliding around.

I ended up not using the hinges for the bed platform. It was going to be a tolerance stacking issue with the EVA when folded back into the drawers. Ultimately just stuck EVA on the top and bottom. They don’t move around that way, still practically level, and easy enough to store if I’m not using them.

Overall really happy with the outcome. Fits quite well to the contours. Ton of storage and room for dogs, win.

Just had the airdowngearup system installed!

Drawer platform is 13” tall so the bed extension goes on top of the folded back seat, without having to flip up the seat cushion.

Extremely convenient and allows for additional body length to sleep in the rear.

Did the Hjdeck EVA effect the cubby dividers from fitting at all?

It did, trimmed about 1/4” off each side of the bottom 2/3 of the dividers and good to go now

Installed my set of Solid Worx Drawers yesterday and overall I’m happy and excited to have less clutter in the back. The assembly/install was straightforward and the pieces fit together very well. I’m not sold on the hex finish though, it’s very slick, even when compared to the factory pad. I might just put a rubber backed floor mat back there so cargo doesn’t slide around with the slightest g-force. I like @Tylerb42’s foam top solution too. I might try in the future.

There were a few things in the install video that threw me off, were inaccurate, or I had to modify:

1. As mentioned earlier in this thread, the 1-1/2” silver screws are for the frame and drawer boxes, not the black 1-1/4” screws. I read that weeks ago but forgot and ended up about halfway through using the wrong screws. The packages do say where they go so make sure to read the fine print!
2. The blue locking slide levers are shown sticking out past the face of the drawer front but the pre-drilled holes at it back an inch or so and mine sit flush with the drawer fronts. I’m fine with this as it maximizes the storage volume and protects the lever. It just threw me off thinking I had done something wrong when it didn’t match how it was oriented in the video.
3. The small side cubby ends that he installs near the end of the video at only held on by one screw into the frame. I added a screw from the top down through the top piece and now they’re much more secure.
4. Lastly, I ordered the extra dividers and I would have passed on that in hindsight. I now have more dividers than I can put in the drawers so I have to store some in the garage.

I think I’ll miss having the airline L track so I will eventually mount them onto the top for added functionality for securing cargo.
