Remember who owned them
Ford was long gone by D5 (Tata came in 2008), but your point is quite fair.
Yes but when was development started? The first TATA built discovery was the 2010 LR4 but not sure they had any hand in developing it.Ford was long gone by D5 (Tata came in 2008), but your point is quite fair.
You could be right - I have no idea how long out they need for that stuff TBH. Either way, it sucks.Yes but when was development started? The first TATA built discovery was the 2010 LR4 but not sure they had any hand in developing it.
You can see a lot of LR DNA in the Ford SUVs and have to admit, our 2010 LR4, once they got the surround camera system sorted out, was a rock solid truck and our replacement, a 2016 LR4 is also chugging along very well for a near 10 year old truck. You could be right - I have no idea how long out they need for that stuff TBH. I do have to admit those new full size are sexy as hell and they no longer look like a Ford Flex
Yes, a Ford Explorer - same vintage as when the Disco 5 came out. Didn't know that about McGovern - explains everything.View attachment 7915639
Assuming that the thing on the right is a Ford (I really don't recognise it) could the fact that McGovern was at Ford from '99 to '04 be a factor? The similarity is striking, even though the Ford(?) is a much classier-looking vehicle than the turd on the left.
Bean-counter = luxury runabouts. What I think is more telling is that TATA appointed PB Balaji as the new CEO of JLR last month.
Plenty of experience working for Unilever and TATA as the CFO, but wait a minute, appointing a Chief Finance Officer in the role of Chief Executive Officer! Shareholders love it, but nobody else does.
And no chance they will be bringing back something akin to the Old Defender.
Sounds like how the US automakers stopped hiring "Car Guys" to run their companies and lost their way. What I think is more telling is that TATA appointed PB Balaji as the new CEO of JLR last month.
