You could be right - I have no idea how long out they need for that stuff TBH. Either way, it sucks.
You can see a lot of LR DNA in the Ford SUVs and have to admit, our 2010 LR4, once they got the surround camera system sorted out, was a rock solid truck and our replacement, a 2016 LR4 is also chugging along very well for a near 10 year old truck.

Assuming that the thing on the right is a Ford (I really don't recognise it) could the fact that McGovern was at Ford from '99 to '04 be a factor? The similarity is striking, even though the Ford(?) is a much classier-looking vehicle than the turd on the left.
Yes, a Ford Explorer - same vintage as when the Disco 5 came out. Didn't know that about McGovern - explains everything.
 
The Explorer is like the soft, street version of a Ford Everest; not sure if they still do, but back in the day they shared a platform and many components.
