I wanted to share my experience with the Shadowmarq x King Shocks 1.5" lift springs. These are relatively new to the market, and I haven’t seen many long-term impressions from people who’ve actually installed and lived with them.
For context, I switched to these after running the Eibach 2.5" lift for about 15,000 miles. The Eibach setup was excellent and I genuinely enjoyed it, but my suspension needs evolved as my build progressed. On a stock Grenadier, the Eibach kit lifts the front higher than the rear. Once I added a drawer system, fridge, and rooftop tent, I started noticing significant rear sag. While upgrading to taller or HD rear springs was an option, I ultimately didn’t want to add any more overall height to the vehicle.
That’s what led me to explore other options. My goals were a level stance and a heavier-duty rear spring to better support added weight. After talking with Brian at Shadowmarq, I decided on their 1.5" HD spring kit. This setup allowed me to continue running 255/85R17 tires (which honestly don’t require a lift) while maintaining a level stance both loaded and unloaded.
I’ve now put roughly 2,500 miles on these springs and couldn’t be happier. Ride quality is very similar to the Eibachs, but with noticeably reduced body roll thanks to the stiffer spring rate and lower overall lift height. The Grenadier stays level whether it’s empty or fully loaded with people and gear. I recently completed a longer desert trip and was very impressed with how the suspension handled rough terrain. While upgraded shocks would certainly help, the springs themselves managed the added weight extremely well.
Overall, I highly recommend the Shadowmarq x King Shocks 1.5" springs—especially for anyone planning to build out their Grenadier and carry additional weight without wanting extra lift height.
