We are finally about ready to buy our first Grenadier.

Can any of you who have REAL WORLD experience of chip tuners etc please give some honest feedback & thoughts.?

Thanks.

Had a Bluesky on mine for about six months. The power increase is very noticeable, especially when overtaking or towing. Fuel economy is slightly better on a long run if you keep your foot out of it. No issues or error codes so far. Very happy with it.

I know a guy who is a friend of another guy who added the TDI box. He tells me it works for him, same experience as rob88 described. He said it no longer feels like he pushing the car to stay at highway speeds, he says it passes with confidence now. He is a good guy, I can vouch for him.

Throttle commanders, which have no influence on the ECU can play a very useful part in making the throttle more communicative. Throttle commanders are relatively cheap, and if my understanding is correct, would have no effect on insurance, or warranty as you are not interfering with the vehicle in any way other than altering at your desire, the sensitivity of the throttle control via the foot pedal.
When in sport mode, you would swear that the ECU had been subject to a tune. In eco mode, the pedal has to be pressed further just to get the vehicle moving. Possibly a good benefit when off roading.

I have the tuner and throttle controller from Titan Motorsports. I've had it on for over a year and a half. Huge difference.

I love that guy

I had 2 bad experiences with the IO Box Tuner. (~$1000.) Limp mode 2X. It resides in a zip lock bag with the defective harness in my garage.) I gave up on the
IO-Box and added the DINAN (one of the oldest companies in Germany, they back up the warranty). They have been making tuner stuff for decades for BMW. It's a fraction of the cost and I love the power. The quickest install too. If you go to the dealer you must remove any tuner, all of them or you will get caught and your engine warranty will be voided. That's a fact. Once it is removed it is not seen and there is no way for them to know. I delt will all of this with the dealer several times. This is the tuner I'm using for under $300.00 its awesome. My Grenadier drove like a brick, now it feels like a rocket. At a light I accidentally burned 4 tire rubber.

Thank you, that’s exactly the kind of feedback I was looking for.
