Build Thread rocket_rod - Quartermaster Tourer Build

Is the shelf above the Umhauer drawers part of the Umhauer setup?

EDIT: No, as I can see Front Runner on one of the images.

Had to pack the Front Runner tub rack by about 50mm. The drawers would fit without doing this, but the flex in the load bars of the rack would lean on the top of the drawers.

Need to sort out water and we will be good for about a week, just with the ute and no towing, with the whole family (of 4).

Looking the way a Quartermaster should. Will be an absolute beast when out bush.
There's something about the QuarterMaster that just feels different than the station wagon. I owned my Base Wagon, triple locked, for 2 years, did 20,000 miles in all types of driving conditions and for me, I like the pickup version better.
the 300mm longer wheelbase is going to take a bit of the shudder out of it,

Iam mounting my front runner tub platform on the 60mm rails that form the horozontal section of the sport bar using stedi bull bar clamps, it should get it right up high as i still have the spare mounted upright in the tub.

you wouldnt happen to have a pic of your canopy without the cover on?

oh and do you know your kurb weight now? went over the bridge in ours this week and with just myself in the rig and 3/4 tank of fuel was bang on 3T. this was without the tub platform that the specs say is 30kg.

I can drive across the weighbridge at work and check, but I haven't been paying attention given the GVM upgrade.

I'll look this afternoon.

Look below, especially 5, 6 and 8.

TANKS – WATER AND FUEL
  1. Expedition HQ has a selection of water, diesel and water tanks, fuel here and water here;
  2. Leitner Designs Jerry Can Holder here (if you put 2 holders on one side, the combined weight exceeds INEOS specs);
  3. DUNN & WATSON water tanks here;
  4. The generic Jerry can used for fuel and water is commonly available. They can be carried inside the car (water), on the roof rack or molle panels on the car;
  5. PAK Offroad has a water tank for the footwells in the rear, or a new roof rack mount with recovery tracks called the RACKTANK (unknown if the TUBTANK or Wheel arch tank can fit into the QM tub); (thanks to @globalgregors and @Rok_Dr). Warning QM owners: this tank may not fit into the rear foot well of a QM. Please confirm before buying;
  6. VAAST has range of water tanks that can be mounted on a roof rack, inside the car or on Molle Panels;
  7. ONTAP Portable Shower, Original here , Black Limited Edition here;
  8. BOAB Offroad has fuel and water tanks, look here; and
  9. ORS can fit stainless steel water tanks (including for the Grenadier, I have one installed), look here;
  10. Headspace Campers are working on 90 litre water tanks (January 2026) under the car on both sides, giving 180 litres in total. See video here.

As a side note I don’t believe the PAK Offroad foot well tank will fit in a quarter master as the rear seat has less foot room than the wagon.

Cheers
Steve

Can you confirm this? As I will make a note on the list.

I have given a warning above, but due to word limits cannot add in the main list until I re-arrange the list.

re water , if using a QM and not utilising the front of the tub ( hardest part to reach anyway) i think one of these is the go,

Not 100% but when I looked at a quartermaster while back there is less legroom in the rear and the rear of the centre console is closer to the rear seat base. The PAK foot well tank is a very snug fit in the wagon.
