Hey all,

I’m getting a Dirtbox flatbed + canopy camper installed on my Quartermaster soon and have been working through power setup options. Figured I’d throw this out here to sanity check my plan and see what others are running.

For context, I also have a Grenadier wagon running a Redarc BCDC Alpha 50, 150Ah battery, and Garmin Power Switch. It’s been a really solid setup and I’ve been happy with it overall.

My initial thought was to replicate something similar in the Quartermaster, but with the canopy setup I’m not sure if that’s the best approach.

Current idea:

  • Keep the factory dual battery system up front
  • Run a Redarc BCDC Alpha 50 to the canopy
  • 200Ah lithium house battery in the canopy
  • Garmin Power Switch for accessory control
  • Redarc 2000W inverter for onboard power
Main question:
Does anyone see any issues with this layout, particularly keeping the stock dual battery system while feeding a separate lithium house system via the BCDC?

Also open to suggestions if there’s a better way to approach this with a canopy camper setup.

Photos for reference below—current QM, existing Redarc setup in my wagon, and the planned canopy layout.

Appreciate any input!
