Quartermaster Disaster

Damn, very sad to hear...

Our QM has over 17k km's now got some small warranty repairs planned at 20k km's (door locks, AC condensation water on floor mat & light oil leak on front diff).

We really love the car, hope that Hedin will solve everything decent and that you will get the chance to enjoy it!
It's a great vehicle...

It sounds like you bought a lemon.
It's under a leasing contract, so not yet fully owned.
I paid cash and have no regrets/ issues. Maybe I'm just lucky and Matthias is just unlucky.
Maybe he should just reject the vehicle, get the marriage annulled asap rather than endure years of misery.

Keep an eye on the front diff ! Seems they do not have spare ones for the moment...
I may have let myself go a little, the frustration was running high when I came back from vacation after six weeks only to find out that the QM still hadn’t been repaired. Parts are still on backorder.
By now it’s been a full two months.
But, we’ll see , first let’s wait until I get it back, and then see how things evolve.
On New Year’s Eve we even went for Beef Wellington at The Grenadier pub in London, the very place where the idea was born. I really am a fan and I find the story behind the car fascinating.
And I must admit, it really is a great car to drive.
But those defects, grrrrr....

Hello there,

The Toyota Tundra is built specifically for the American market in Texas and is not officially imported or sold in Europe. Over here, it’s not really regarded as a true Toyota…
After purchasing the Grenadier, I gave my old Toyota Land Cruiser HJ61 to my 22-year-old son. Nearly 35 years old, 422,000 km on the clock, still running with the original engine, axles, and differentials…
During a six-week trip in Australia, I saw countless Toyotas – I’d estimate well over 95% – a few Patrols and the new Mazda pickups. And also 5 Grenadiers. Over 8,400 km.
Had I known this forum beforehand, I would never have bought an Ineos.
If you can show me a Toyota forum with similar testimonials about defects, breakdowns, and problems, I’ll eat my Grenadier, agreed?
You wont find that club, all toyotas are perfect. I run a service company so high milage they fo have lemons i have had to deal with two in my life and when you have injectors failing in warranty i wish you the best of luck that cannot happen to a toyota, gearbox fail its your fault you did something wrong. The second last one was so bad i fowed to never buy another hilux. Went through 6 rangers (3.2l) not one problem then had the stupid idea and got one of this 2l timebomb raptors took 50000km and two engines and a gearbox for them to take it back. Then stupidly got another hilux it ended in mediation under 5000km so git a new one at no cost and can say nit a single mishap in 160k well ts a quartermaster now. No actual breakdowns yet but trailer plug has an issue only with lights on. But the canvas canopy is plain bad design on the zips and clips. Time for a warranty visit not even sure they will cover it. So any brand can have a lemon sad if you get one but there is normally some institution that will stand in for mediation its free and tell them to fix it once and for all or refund it. Problem is you already have a bad taste. Good luck

So true. There is no such thing as a Toyota defect. Welcome to the Toyota Collective.
